After all, you are not required to put your characters in the same configuration in the starting areas each game. You can position them how you wish to take advantage of different terrain features (and your opponent's characters) each game.

As another example, you are not required to assign the same Fragments to the same characters when you use the Phoenix Force, either. If in round 1 of a tournament you want to leave Colossus on the base and give all your assigned character Invulnerability, but leave Magik on for her Mystics-lite in round 2, that's perfectly okay.

I am not saying this was intended to work this way, but since we can in fact customize our team in some ways each game, it seems foolish to automatically assume that "nobody thought about this" when in fact it could be quite purposeful that we're not told to put them in the same spot each time.

You're right. Perhaps I was piling on the "WK please get something right" bandwagon. But its equally foolish to say you can't switch them around when there are no rules saying you can't, and as you provided examples for; there is precedent for switching resources around.

So you could also solo adventure 2 or more characters and put them in different slots when you reunite them. Could make a huge advantage when you use the asset dial and roll to a click with 4 options for figures.
