Cosmic Multi-Attack is not Multi-Attack. You must follow the special rules for Cosmic Multi-Attack.

Cosmic Multiattack is still affected by the general rule that you cannot activate the same effect more than once with a free action. This change has been in effect since at least Secret Invasion when the Fantastic Four starter set came out.
What this means that at most, for example, Galactus could use a ranged combat action for pulse wave, a ranged combat action for a basic ranged attack, and then a close combat action to make a close combat attack.
Next time I play the big guy I plan to use the Infinity Gauntlet on him just to give him some options.

If what you say is true, then Old G just went from one of the best pieces in the game, to just a moderate piece.
I wish it wasn't so, but this is what the rules say as they are currently written.
I was hoping 3000 point Thanos would be the next figure to get Cosmic Multiattack. As being one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel Universe (at the time being magnitudes more powerful than Galactus) I would think the would deserve it. The reason for this being that it would have been nice to get a current wording on Cosmic Multiattack that takes into account the current changes to the rules that were not present when Old G was made.

So duo attack, and the Avengers Prime are affected by this rule as well? You can't make two ranged combat actions, or three in the case of Trio Attack?

Page 3 of the Player's Guide:
Duo Attack
The free actions used in this ability may activate the same effect.
Trio Attack: Trio Attack: Give Avengers Prime a double power action. They
can then be given 3 close or ranged combat actions as free actions,
each targeting a single character. These free actions may be used to
activate the same effect.

I don't see in the guide where it say's otherwise. I checked the character errata and reference guide as well and Trio Attack doesn't show different. Where do I check?
The wording is on page 3 under multi-attack. I am not sure what you are pointing out in Section 4. Are we still talking about multi-attack?
No, the post that you quoted to say was wrong was not about multi-attack. It was about the Duo Attack ability and the Trio Attack trait of Avengers Prime.
