I might be missing something in this, but why is this an issue? Maximum can already use MC so he can't benefit from the AP's power... but it's the same power. The "When Alpha Primitive is targeted by Mind Control, modify its defense value by -2" is still in effect regardless of where the MC comes from.
So Maximum can MC the AP with the -2DV and +X AV (from Maximus' power)... what am I missing to make this a concern?
When you use Mental Override next to the AP not only do you modify your Attack by 4, the Alpha Primitive also modifies his attack by plus 4.

I wasn't so much concerned about the mechanic itself, but more curious about why the ruling was made considering it directly contradicts the wording in the PG.
AH!! To MC a friendly AP... yep, that's what I was missing. LOL! Thanks for the clarification to the argument.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
