Just to clarify on prepare the way. Say Black Adam who shares a kw and hasn't been given a turn trades places, can he take an action after they trade spots? The way it's worded 'also' would mean to me it's based on the previous stipulations.
I hate this piece even more now that I pulled one.
I dislike any low cost piece with mastermind(no matter how special). Why would I want to keep him alive? Even with his trait. The second one, I have no Pandora's box and no plans to get one. What a waste of a SR. At least I pulled the uncommon one in the same booster so I can use that amazing piece. It's 1000x better than this turd.
Hopefully someone will want to trade for him because otherwise I might just trash him when his value on the singles sites gets under $5. Which is not long off.
Yuck
Paired with Shatterstar he could be a nasty way to zip Ultraman accross the map or something. I don't play teams like that though, it's not fun for anyone.
If I'm playing an Outsider I'm playing the Uncommon. No question.
Waste of a character slot.
Look at it this way. He's obviously meant to be played with theme teams (good for me) and/or with the Box resource (I don't have one, likely won't get one). But his value is in positioning, which I can imagine being a huge asset if played right. Meaning he's a good finesse piece.
You swap him around and make your opponent go for your 50 point piece, wasting actions and movement on him, instead of your high-dollar tentpole. Or tempting him with lower hanging fruit to come into range of your big hitters.
If I'm playing him, he's going to be on a theme team, and he's going to be used to position himself for using his Prob control and Outwit, and also to position his team-mate for whatever he needs to do. In other words, I can see him being *excellent*. He's a board control piece, and that with his prob and outwit will make him very useful.
So given that perspective, I can see him being a good 4-star piece. Is he worth a super-rare slot? Don't know. Maybe I'll know that after playing him.
I'd pay 50 points for outwit/prob/team placement all day long. Yes it's a theme team specific piece in a super rare slot, but this set is all about the Crime Syndicate shining, and this fig enhances this.
I finally played this figure. It was a CSA team and Outsider brought Pandora's Box w/ 5 sins. I definitely feel like he was worth his points, but aside from the discount price of the Box, I used very little else of his special tricks. I found his defense power to be very unreliable depending on map choice/positioning.
