Yeah, if memory serves, you used to be able to shoot to and from the corner (the outside bottom of a "V"), but that was changed (I believe while I was gone) and you can't do that anymore. At the time in the video you're referring to, he could have shot the team base at either corner from that position, but not the solo'd figure.
After reading some of the comments on the video, I have to agree that at the Nationals Finals, you'd think that both players would know the rules better, but it's kind of unfortunate that the judges only passively judge (don't point out illegal actions, but will answer any questions asked). :-\
That being said, even if that attack hit the team base instead of the Solo, I don't imagine it would change the outcome much at all so it's a moot point.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
sorry still not getting it. Are you saying you not considered on the rim if your on the corner
No, he was on the rim.
E .
E E
A character in E can't draw LOF to . because the regular Es on either side of the intersection block LOF.
LINE OF FIRE ACROSS INTERSECTION POINTS
Whenever a character’s line of fire crosses exactly through an intersection point, treat the point as the less restrictive of the two squares that touch that point but are not otherwise in the line of fire.
Both squares that touch that point are elevated terrain. Elevated terrain (other than the square the character occupies) blocks LOF.
Probably so he couldn't KO it back and get points for it.
Right, that's what I'm thinking.
Zombie-fied Splitlip would have been a very easy KO for Doop, effectively negating the points the Zombies scored for the KO in the first place.
If there was a Hammer on the map, that had been left as a relic, then I could potentially see using Splitlip for an easy pick-up, but otherwise he would have been too much of a liability.
Just a side question can you use solo adventure during working together because I noticed on the video the person playing the team base at 300 used a move action and solo adventure for his working together and removed two characters for the solo adventure was that not illegal
I don't think that the guy who used the team base had used them in a long time and hastily decided to use it after he saw that there were very few green lantern power batteries being brought. He made quite a few mistakes with it in the last video and luckily he was called out on them on the spot. I think it was just a mix of nerves and rust on his part. The lof issue in question was also probably nerves. This game would have changed quite a bit if that skrull hadn't been pointlessly koed so quickly.

Working together lets you (among other things) give the character a power action as a free action. Solo Adventure is activated by a power action. Furthermore, Mole Man's Asset Ability lets you place up to 3 characters with Solo Adventure.
So, sure, you can use Working Together, then give the team base a free move action to move, then give it a free power action to use Solo Adventure and spit out up to 3 characters.
For simplicities sake I've always explained the rule change that you can no longer shoot thru a 90 degree elevated diagonal similar to two squares of diagonal blocking or still gaining the +1 def modifier you get for shooting thru diagonal hindering even thought the target doesn't occupy it.

I now understand that that is how it works but still confused on why. If you are considered to be on the rim why would you not ignore both pieces of elevated. Even if you only ignore one piece of the elevated i thought the above rule let you wrap around the one you did not ignore.

You are making it really hard not to hate you... kidding!

There is no ignoring of terrain, you choose the less restrictive. In most cases when you shoot from the rim of elevated terrain through an intersection at a target at a lower level your choices will be elevated on one side and clear on the other. Which is the less restrictive? The clear terrain, you can make the attack. In this case you have elevated on both sides. Which is the less restrictive? The elevated terrain. Can you shoot through elevated terrain to hit a character at a lower level? No.
Essentially that corner square is not "on the rim" of the elevated terrain (for Line of Fire purposes).
