I would like to see a copy of the teams not off the army sheets. I have poor eyesight and the handwriting is not very accommodating to that. I can read most of the times, but I have a problem with a couple of them, especially the ones written in a lighter ink
The problem isn't poor eyesight, it's the shoddy penmanship
They're not my team, but if you want to understand football and feelings, watch this: http://youtu.be/xx0Ru_1zPVk
I thought when a figure from zombie team base or new mutants TB was removed, the opponent scores that. in fact any item or person removed from game is supposed to be scored. did no one catch that? anyway sounded like fun day. would have made it but it was closer to Lawton for a ROC same day, placed 4th with shi'ar team base. LONG LIVE TEAM BASES!! woo hoo for winning with one!!
This is a fine point. Looks like Patrick got screwed
I believe its the points of the figure or item, will check up on that. I think there was some question on it in rules forum. that's why I looked at juggernaut as the one removed, what??? why??
Update -- This is an older, albiet specific ruling. It appears the most recent ruling is that points are scored when something is removed from the game, which is probably a good thing.

All, it was a recent rules update. It used to be that when a game element was removed from the game that points were scored for it based on the points paid. Then circa this time last year they changed that. It changed to no points being awarded if a game element is only removed from the game. This was very beneficial to good players like Ross and his beloved New Mutants Team Base. However, a few weeks ago (after this event I believe) it was changed again. So now if a game element is removed from the game points are awarded based on the points that were paid for that element.
For this event I believe the right call was made of no points being awarded due to the timing of it.

As much as I love tearing apart these types of teams, Jordan and the rest of the players in the top 8 are highly competitive players. You could give them an average team and they would place within the top 16. I have been playing in Houston for two years and it is always a rough game when you face one of the guys from Ragnarok. Even though these teams are not the most creative you have to remember one thing; its tactics. It is suppose to be lame and cheap.
Seems like team base goes after the easiest target and scores then runs back for support. I wouldn't call that being the aggressor, more like run and hide. But I guess this is what the modern game has come too. Congrats to Jordan on some savy play!!
He was obviously the aggressor as patricks team was more of a turtle type tactic. I think him scoring those points was more of a "realized" opportunity. Either way just judging from the rundown of the game they obviously had to play very cautiously as one attack on the main attackers would have changed the entire momentum of the game

Don't get me wrong. I'm not beating on the players, but rather critiquing the game. The rules and elements deliberately drive the game to these kind of outcomes. It's sad, really.
What was on that brainiac team? I'm wondering what it was and how it did. Anyone know?
I assume you're talking about my team, I played the Brainiac's Skull Ship. It was an absolute blast to play and with the right support I truly believe it has a place in the meta scene.
I played the Skull Ship at 100 points with the city dial active. I played Greed w/ Ophidian and the Omega Drive, I also paid to put the Greed relic on the Skull Ship. I then had the Fast Forces Atmoica w/ Adara. I rounded out the team with an Indigo Power Battery using the Spotlight and Crossbow constructs.
The plan was to equip the Skull Ship with a construct (usually crossbow) turn one build up at least 3 or 4 city tokens before I went after my opponents force. What I really liked about my team is that it was very difficult to hit even when I went into attack mode. Giving Atomica defend with her 19D was brutal, but it's even worse when you consider that Greed's relic gives me ESD on top of that. If I did take a hit then Greed becomes an incredible medic thanks to support from the Indigo ring and his 11 AV compared to whatever pitiful printed defense the attack mode dial was showing. This team can handle a variety of threats, but the biggest flaw wound up being that it is too slow to build up for 40 minute rounds. Due to some tough pairings and the clock eating me alive I wound up going 1-2 in the first three rounds with less than 100 points. After five rounds I wound up going 3-2 with just enough points to squeak into the cut, but due to 2 spots being taken by automatic qualifiers compiled with an error in recording wins and losses I was not taken into the single elimination.
