FINALLY!!! A Spiderman with the right defense numbers, right damage numbers, and right attack numbers with CHARGE. I'd drop the TA (since he doesn't have keywords for any team) to lower the points, but this rocks. Hope I can get one......

Not necessarily. In the original storyline the simbiote did not make Spidey stronger. It created it's own webbing and and could mimic his other clothes negating the need for Pete to wear anything else. It was really only after Venom came about and he was somehow stronger than Spidey that it was decided that since the costume alone can make a normal dude stronger than Spidey then when he wore it he must have been much stronger than normal. Now since Spidey has ditched the alien he has grown in experience, and dare I venture, strength over the years. He also trained with Shang-Chi after Spider-Island so now he has some martial arts knowledge, something he never had before. A solid argument could be made that a "normal" Spidey in his traditional red and blue could be very close to this good.

the symbiote suit never amped up his stats or powers. common misconception. a modern red/blue suit with the other powers and the way of the spider could potentially be a ~175 point beast.

similarly, we could get a more powerful superior spider-man v2 with all the tech upgrades. both would be far more powerful than black suit spidey.


Gotta say though, I'm finally happy. A good middle range spidey that is INCREDIBLE for the points.

welll...not to out-nerd you but according to the marvel universe guide as well as the marvel universe page the "suit" or symbiote enhanced a persons strength level. if i recall a page from one of the comics where he had the suit he said something like "wow i used to have trouble lifting a buick" while he was lifting a car, or somesuch. but yes the alien enhances the person wearing it. but still an awesome spidey. though i dont know why he doesnt have super strength his entire dial.

People wanting this Spidey to be better also have to take into account his points cost. At 120pts, this is a TERRIFIC piece. As a secondary attacker, who can tie up clutch pieces who rely on mobility, and who has acceptable defensive powers, he's a hell of a deal. With the right resources, etc... he becomes outright excellent.

To whomever suggested Ion... you're damn right. He becomes cheap, hard to hit, and with points spared for more support options, he's really potent.

You're right, with those keywords he doesn't have very many TA options, but dp023 Black Cat comes to mind...she sure could use that 19 D!

pshh, there's a good number of characters with the spider-man family keyword. I really wish he had gotten the F4 keyword, however. Thematically, it makes sense. Until like the mid-90s, he was more associated with the F4 than any other team, and they are a huge part of the original Symbiote story (Reed discovering exactly what spideys costume does).

and don't forget, the Spider-man family ata is a thing. He doesn't always need a friendly TA to copy when his enemies' are just as good.

while this spidey is good and prolly the best. alot of you are failing to see his sonic sensitivity trait. while hes indomitable if he is hit by EE or Pb. it could really hurt his attack rate. for examples taking EE splash would also give him an action token.while hes good he can also be out actioned. by ranged attackers especially ones with a PrS and Pb COMBO.."if one" prolly is tho.

What you listed is pretty negligible considering the difficulty that anyone is going to have hurting him in the first place.For a P/PB attack, they have to hit a 20DV with SS and SC.

EE may be easier, granted they hit a teammate with a lower defense, but that is also easy to avoid if you know your opponent is packing EE.

keep in mind his combat abilities can be out witted.. in cluding his indpmitalbe and special. D. which then if hit with PB or EE would deal him pushing damage. and why you may be right i know how to work a map and outwit shapechange with battle furry or PrS users that deffense wont be hard to hit with a 12 attacker like trick shot or bullesye.

You're overthinking this. Of course his abilities can be outwitted; the same can be said for 90% of the figs in this game. In most games, this Spidey will be hard to take down. My only complaint about him is that he doesn't have top dial SS.
