I think you sell Ant Man short. All those damage reducers he'll face are useless against his exploit weakness, and when he doesn't have that he has precision strike, so either way his damage will stick
Monica's just as good with increases as she is with reductions, adding +1 to range values and up to +2 to ranged damage.

Correct. So she adds up to +3 ranged damage [Perplex, Enhancement, SHIELD].

allows the fig to be carried by a larger figure, regardless of the fig's other combat symbols.

I think Victor might be the only top-dial TK in the set. That, and the preponderance of Sidestep rather than RS, I think he's a 4-shield figure. We had our event yesterday and the winner played him.

Curiously, what else did the winner play?

Have to agree with everyone on Victor. We had our AoU event yesterday (400 pts sealed, 2+ boosters AoU; 5 boosters max) and while he wasn't on the winning team, he was on a few teams and was usually the last man standing and put in a REALLY good showing.
Pro tip: he makes an excellent possessee for Jocasta,

400 points, with up to 5 boosters of the set to pull from? There's having options, and then there's HAVING OPTIONS. I couldn't begin to rate a sealed set for that kind of set up. It's almost like giving every one playing poker their own deck to pull from (letting them sort through it and stack thee deck first).

Our event was 500 and he played two of them, and not sure what else. She Hulk I think was there. Having alpha strike helped him a lot of think
Thanks for the follow up. In 500 point sealed, there's no reason not to play Victor. In 300 you have to ask, is there something better? Chances are in 300 he's going to TK one of his 2 teammates into the fray for a first strike and then could be easily overwhelmed.
Unfortunately I can't rate everything at different build levels and these reviews are geared towards 300 builds.

I realize that, my example wasn't meant to be *why* I think he's 4 stars. Note also he played *two* of them, a higher percentage of his build than one at 300.
There's a lot of shallow dials and high damage and/or penetrating damage, or charge/super strength. There's a distinct lack of running shot on top dials. Getting first strike will matter a lot.
The fact that there's no other TK, and that he's both good TK and then pretty solid I think makes him a 4-shield fig.

Where on earth do you play where you allow people to buy more than 2 boosters of a limited set for a Sealed tournament, and therefore allow those with the most money to get the best selection for said tournament?!

I agree with the 3 rating. This means, "an above average figure, this piece has combat abilities that will help it earn back its cost, or provide significant benefits to a team." That perfectly describes what people are pointing out: that with a good team, Victor can push that team to greatness. He just needs someone else to do the brunt of the dealing damage work, as he's using his opening turns to put someone else into position.
Guys, 3 is a great rating. Not every playable figure needs 4. That should be reserved for figures who you can't go wrong with, regardless of the rest of your team.

We actually do this for all our sealeds (and usually allow FF/GF as well) and our players love it. Many of them are buying at least 5 boosters anyway at the RELEASE event and like being able to open every thing and build. Even with the price increase, no one bought less then 3 and we had 14 players.
Honestly, this is the first limited release we had enough of to do this. We wised up and ordered way more than we usually do so we had more than enough. Also, we are in Columbus, have OP play every day of the week (seriously) at different venues, and Origins is next week.

Maybe I keep confusing myself on this, but I thought that special power outwit was a different use than regular outwit.
Not exactly - the special power just says "can use Outwit", so no matter how he winds up using it to counter a power, it stays countered unless you KO Hank.
