Just a brief reminder that writing for HCRealms doesn't necessarily have to be an all new article series. There's plenty of older article titles that could be taken up:
Hollywood Who'd Win
Replay Value
Deconstructing Rules
Missing in Action
The Trophy Room
Generic Reviews
NIT Picks
HeroClix Map Review
Where We Play
Well Rounded
Box It Up
How To Win
Head To Head

This is good. I've wanted to contribute for a while, and based on my typical post length in other threads, I think I could do a good job, but I'm lacking any really good ideas in brainstorming, especially when other articles so neatly covered other bases. Would it be ok with the original authors?

I would love to do that actually. I think I'd open up with something on the GridReality maps and/or really popular maps for tournaments like the Black Mercy Garden or Flooded Wakanda. I'll work on a proposal for that while I try to think of something else.
Not sure I could dedicate time for a weekly or biweekly thing, but one idea would be helping build teams around random characters that rarely get played.
For instance, I probably only think to play 25% of what I buy because I have no idea who some of the characters are anymore, or what would be a theme-y or neat trick to build around. So maybe a bi-monthly series with each installment focusing on the new commons /uncommons/rares for each edition.
Almost like the sealed primers, but more character driven and focus on the lesser-know charcters.
The hook would be somethig about getting the "full use of one's investment in the game."
Also, second the idea for an article series on game scenarios. Something that this game severely lacks and would think would be so easy/appropriate with the source material.

This is actually what I submitted for. I think one of my strengths is in fun scenarios!
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing
I've seen some great idea thrown out there. Maybe we could combine some of the ideas that may not support a full article into one overall idea...call it "Judges Corner" or "Judgment Day" or something like that.
It could cover:
-Map choices and why you would want one map over another
-Creating Scenarios or challenging players to break scenarios to help Judge's or home players fine tune their scenario building abilities.
-Building creative/fun/broken/unique teams
-Best practices for getting and retaining players
-etc.

My minor was in creative writing, I could whip up some clix poetry?
I'd read that. ;-P
Also, liking the idea of an article series that rotates contributors. Many hands make light work and all that. Readers get similar articles by different writers, writers get a month or two between articles, the site gets a "farm team" of contributors (like the way Pixar has directors do those short films before giving them a full-length movie).
I'll throw together a pitch and PM later this week. Thanks for putting out the call!

I thought about something similar, but I think I'm less practiced at actually coming up with scenario play, and I would love to see more regular scenarios to go with.
