For a 400 point combo and to have a LOT of power on the team, I like using these two together:

next time you cover a legionnaire you should try Phantom Girl she's another favorite of mine, matter eater lad though he's actually one of the view legionnaires i don't like but it's still good to see the legion get attention.

For Deep Dish I nominate Sam Wilson Falcon.
For By The Slice I nominate Tigra.

Not a big Matter Eater Lad fan, but as usual nice write-up.

It isn't thematic by any stretch, but one of my favorite teams to play from a purely fun standpoint back in the day was this guy



leading an army of 35 pt. Matter-Eater Lads with the Brave and Bold Yellow Lantern object thrown in for good measure.

All the MELs copy Masters of Evil from Zemo. Push them every single turn. If lucky, Zemo's trait prevents pushing damage. Steal energy heals if attacks are hit. Damage goes through reducers. The yellow lantern is their simply to boost attack.

It's the closest thing to relentless horde of zombies that I've came up with. Just push and attack every.single.time. with 35pt Matter-Eater Zombies. Either they devour the competition, or die themselves. It's a blast regardless.
