Out of curiosity, what are the league settings in terms of draft (auction vs. snake), PPR, roster, etc.

I think the Default settings are
Snake
PPR (0.5 per R), TO (-1 I think)
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
1 DEF
1 K
Then open slots for you to fill as you see fit.

There was a year we did Auction, but I don't think most liked it or something.

I am completely open to changing the settings this year, don't be afraid to post ideas.

Cool, thanks for posting that Darq (and Kontrol), and thanks for inviting me on board. I've wanted to join the mafia league for a few years but either miss it, or am already in too many other leagues...

I don't see any rules that I hate, haha, and I don't want to shake things up too much if you guys already have settings that you like. But I do have some suggestions:

Not a huge fan of return yards and/or bonuses for reaching X amount of yards, but thats more due to lack of experience in those types of leagues than anything else.

I would recommend switching to a weekly waiver format and/or Free Agent Acquisition Budget or FAAB. This is how it would look for example:

Waiver Time: 1 day
Waiver Type: FAAB w/ Continual rolling list tiebreak
Weekly Waivers Game Time - Tuesday

I've really enjoyed using FAAB the last few years. It's basically a blind auction each week for the waiver wire pick-ups.

FYI, I historically like Return Yards because it allows a gamble to use a 3rd or 4th string WR who returns kicks instead of just a random loser WR during Bye week shennanigans. These are also pretty helpful in larger 10 or 12 team leagues.

Of course, this goes back to the year I won a league because of Wes Welker on the Dolphins returning tons of yardage because his team sucked.

Waiver, I'm all for 1 day, thought we had that, I'll see how to fix it

ETA: Oh I see you want to include Weekly stuff. I've found that that cause serious problems lately with weeks with Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday games, and Europe...

Ok, for whatever reason I currently have three teams in there. I just logged in from a new comp and it registered me again twice? I dunno.

If Darq would be so kind as to kick both of Mr. Penguin's teams out. Leave the Vinegar Strokes.

Addendum: Draft is currently set for September 10th. That's after the opener between Denver and Carolina. We'll need something no later than the 7th if we want week 1 to count. I figure post any days you absolutely can't draft in this thread. Only hard pass for me right now is Sunday, August 28th before 4:00 Mountain Time.

I think I may be confusing something in waivers, and I'm not sure how to explain it haha. I'm basically cool with waivers as long as they give a reasonable amount of time to put a claim in and it's not a free-for-all/benefitting whoever can watch the most games/spend the most time at their computer on game day. Which, after rereading it, I think is what you guys got going on... (man I really should finish this coffee... haha)

If peeps could give there Time Zones that would also give me a good feel for a proper start time

Literally changed it in the last 20 minutes just so new peeps could join. Yahoo automatically put all of last year's team in automatically, in the past players would have at least had to "agree"

Note: if by some chance we get to 14 teams, I'll definitely begin looking at tweaking roster size a bit

I'm on Pacific Coast time.

Any weekday besides Tuesdays I can do it after 6pm (later would be better since I get off work at 6, but can always draft from the office). Weekends are touch and go for me, but Sunday evenings are typically the least busy.

If possible, I would like to avoid Tuesday or Wednesday, as that's when I typically have my RPG nights. Otherwise any time works for draft as long as I know in advance.
