Feel free to play it out, and I would have loved to have another general, but you might have gotten to the party a little late to be a general my friend. The next arc starts in two weeks though and will be a great jumping on point!
Eh Fair enough still gonna play the heck out of it. Hope the cosmic elements return in the next chapter.
Jen turns and gives Betty a disgusted look. "You're raiding corpses now?"
"It's basic Dungeons and Dragons," Amadeus Cho responds. "Besides, these are Darkseid's creepy murder-goons. I don't think we need to spend much time mourning them."
A-Bomb's face also grimaces a bit. "Do you have to desecrate them, too, Bett?" he asks, while she gleefully slams her newfound sword through some dead Parademon limbs.
"I have to TEST it, Rick," she responds, with a nasty little grin, as if she's got some aggression to work out. "Only the best in alien bladesmithing for me."
"Betty," Samson sighs. "I really don't think you're handling any of this very well. You have to let me - "
"Shut up, Len."
The Cometeer has finally found its way to Sakaar, and it has landed in the middle of a gruesome battlefield. Littered for miles in every direction are bodies of Parademons, Kree, and Sakaarians - the aftermath of the titanic battle for control of the planet, the outcome of which is not entirely clear to these novice spacefarers.
Mostly novice, that is. Captain Comet knows a thing or two, but information has been a little hard to come by, what with the wedding of Yon-Rogg and Ag'apo being the talk of the galaxy. The Kree are never quick to advertise their own lossses, though, and Apokolips is often a black hole of intel, and judging by the looks of this world, Sakaar may not even be capable of basic internet services for information dissemination. Maybe after being fought over by two empires, they don't really want to advertise as a tourist destination.
Cyborg is a little torn about this whole experience, now having set foot on an alien world. Part of him loves the adventure, but part of him is getting really homesick. On this planet, not being able to tap into any kind of information network, he's finding himself even more unnerved. But he tries to stay focused on the mission. "So, uh... what do we even know about this planet, Comet?"
The Captain shrugs. "Not much. It's near a wormhole, so you can understand the strategic value, and that makes it pretty well war-torn. It's almost like a graveyard for foolhardy armies and random space detritus. If both the Kree and Apokoliptians were fighting over it and neither one has control, I think we can guess that the natives are pretty savage."
"Given the 'slave pits' and all, I think we all thought that already," John Irons notes from behind the steel mask he wears as his exosuit - a mask that looks eerily like his own face.
Jennifer Walters' sinking feeling about this expidition she spearheaded is diving down even lower. This... this is carnage. This is war on a level she's never seen... and Bruce is somewhere mixed up in all this. Has he gone over the edge? Is that shy kid her family took in after his deranged father killed his mother now a killer of mothers himself? One could hardly blame him, given all the trauma and horror he's been through in his life. Even during his worst rampages back home, he'd always been focused on attacking those who were attacking him first. He wasn't as indiscriminate as Betty's father and his cronies would have everyone believe. As disparate as their personalities are today, Jen always understood Bruce. They both struggled with self-expression for so long... until everything went green. He saved her life with this gift, in more ways than one. She has to try to return the favor, no matter how far gone he is.
A large, scaly, blue-green hand softly touches her shoulder.
"It's gonna be all right, Jen," Rick assures her. "We're gonna get him back."
Jen reaches a hand up to pat Rick's. She nods to him, before looking back over at Betty, hacking away at corpses with a giant sword. Leonard is right, she is NOT handling any of this well, and the damn stubbornness that comes with being a Hulk isn't doing her any favors. She's irritable, she's combative, she's drunk on the power and a slave to whim, and there's no telling how deeply the resurrection process that turned her into this has affected her. But she understands her, too. A childhood of sacrifice, loss, and neglect, an adolescence of obedience and controlled emotion, an adulthood of tragedy, chaos, terror, and ever more sacrifice. She's always put everyone else before herself, and she died for it. Poisoned to death as an act of revenge against her husband by an abomination called Blonsky. Her own death wasn't even about her - just a pawn. Always a pawn. Even her resurrection - something engineered by her father - smacks of one of Thunderbolt's long-game strategies, although she'd hate to think it of the man. And now his daughter, who was never able to put her desires first, is coursing with a power that drives her to do nothing but at all times... and she has no clear idea of what those desires really are. Everything at the same time. She wants it all. Jen understands that mindset all too well. It's overwhelming, but Hulks will NEVER admit to that. Theye're the strongest ones there are.
Suddenly, the group realizes that they've somehow been snuck up on by a large beetle-beast, who announces his presence with a slithery-sounding voice. "Who *kik* are you?! Invaders?!"
Jen shakes out of her reverie. "Closer to Defenders, actually," she mutters to herself, instinctively meta when it comes to off-the-cuff quips.
"Defenders of *kik* who?"
"Never mind," Jen responds (although Rick thinks he might get the reference). "We mean you no harm. We are just looking for someone. A big green someone like me."
"NOT like you. *kik*" Miek responds. "Like him. Only like him. None other like him."
Betty stabs a corpse and looks over the bug man with a sneer, waving to the assembled hulks. "Look around, Beetle Bailey. Obviously, this group puts the lie to that thought."
"Why do you seek *kik* The Worldbreaker?"
They look at each other nervously. Worldbreaker? Is that what he did to THIS world?
"He's our friend," Cho responds. "We want to bring him back home, where he belongs."
The bug's eyes shift, and he drools out a few strange insectoid sounds. Faces like his are hard to read. But he does adopt a more defensive stance.
"Cho?" A-Bomb asides, "Maybe don't call the 'Worldbreaker' our friend until we know how the bug monsters feel about him?"
"You... are from the world he *kik* left. The world he will one day return to break. You *kik* exile him, then want to reclaim him once he reigns supreme. To subjugate him again. You will not do this thing. You will return to that world and await to be broken."
"Wrong answer, creep," Betty blurts, pulling her sword out and sending some black ichor splattering out onto Miek, before stalking over towards him, slinging the sword over her shoulder. "You're going to tell us where he is, lead us to him, and let us have our say to his face, or else you're going to be turned into a mashed potato bug. So what's it gonna be?"
Miek takes a step back, eyes shifting again. *kikkikkik* These people are warlike. Bring war to Sakaar again, make Green Scar fight again. End peace. Good. Miek is not done fighting. Green Scar must fight again. After a moment, he turns around, waving for the Earthlings to follow.
Betty turns to Doc Samson with a smirk. "I'm handling this VERY well, thank you."
Samson looks to the others. Cho seems to have enjoyed that little exchange greatly, but Jen and Rick both are convinced she's in some serious denial.
I got my Justice League vs. New Krypton teams set up. Hoping to play the match tomorrow and post it. I'm bummed--I'm tabling at another comic con this weekend so I won't have time to play out many of the matches (traveling Thursday then tabling Friday to Sunday). I'd been hoping to play a few more matches, but we're prioritizing the Justice League v New Krypton match.
Funny thought--would New Krypton defend itself, or would Apokolips work to hold onto it? We're using mostly Kryptonians since that makes more sense, but I've got a story angle I'm looking forward to writing up because of that.

There's like a dozen characters I regret not finding a way to use in this series before the end of the cosmic adventures. Alura is one of them. She'll definitely be involved in this match-up somehow.

This is a cool idea, provided J. Jonah Jameson is in charge.

If you want to add the folks from Channel 52 (the news agency covering DC's New 52), there were...hang on.
Ambush Bug, Calendar Man, Bethany Snow, Vartox.
"You're not alone, you know. What you were, and what you are to become, will always be with you."

Oh yeah defiantly I wasn't sure if Earth was fully aware of what was happening in the galaxy. I'll need to expand what characters can expand their comfort zone beyond just the genre.

Oh yeah I forgot about them, thanks for the reminder they would be perfect for the news cast.
The Skrulls are in a bad way. The Kree turned on them. Annihilus is gone. We are a beaten race. All I have left is an egg from Annihilus. Do I Hatch it or Kill it? Do we show our hand and the spies that are planted throughout he Galaxy? Do I have any of these underhanded things in place or am I full of lies?

Take a shot every time The Kree back stab The Skrulls. Perhaps after the war the top leaders from both empires can take a meditative leave on Zenn La.
