Did a bit of a clean up on it, hopefully it's helpful.
If we get the Past Rules doc and it needs more of a break down, I'll update it then. Or if there's anything obvious anyone thinks should go in, let me know.
XOXO

Thanks so much for this post. As a returning player I wasn't sure where to start.
Also, I didn't see duo attack in the rules nor the PAC. Is there another set of rules that I'm missing?
The symbol and associated abilities (and many other things) now fall under "Past Rules". You can find a list of all the "Past Rules" game mechanics at the end of the Comprehensive Rules Supplement, available here- https://wizkids.com/heroclix/gameplay/rules-format/
Right now, "Past Rules" means "these things still work the same as before, but are being phased out of current design, so they won't be getting updated right now to be inline with the current rules". Right now, this leaves a lot open to interpretation. So far, the only thing we've gotten an official answer on is that still counts as a standard character.

Nope. There are references to a "past rules" document that will contain wording for effects only found in Golden Age. Such a document does not currently exist.

Thanks guys. I guess for my specific question about Duo it would be considered a Power Action that allows for a Range/Close action to be taken for free. So it would work with things that work with Close / Range actions? I.e. I could use Range Combat Mastery?
Also - thanks for the info about the rules. So it sounds like everything in Past Rules is not planned to be used in the game ever again. So I'd probably want to get rid of those figured haha

Better to ask these questions in the actual rules forum. Rather than this thread. But, while we're here: the last wording of Duo Attack was this -
DUO ATTACK
Give this character a power action. This character makes 2 combat attacks (close and/or ranged) as free actions and possesses during this action.
Under current verbiage, it would read like this:
DUO ATTACK
POWER: Make 2 attacks but with only 1

Don't go that far. For instance, Multi-attack is "Past Rules." The new Odin the Destroyer, however, basically has a version of that ability.
It is likely that some of these will be revisited in the future, if they can be streamlined.

No reason to get rid of anything. They still work just fine. Like Wolverazio said, some stuff will still get used occasionally, but instead of being more stuff cluttering the PAC, it will be written on the card, like in Odin's case.
The stuff that would be open to interpretation would be things like "can Duo's be Carried?". They couldn't before, but the definition of Carry has changed, and that's where the restriction was. Given the ruling on Sharpshooter still being standard characters, I'd lean towards Duo's not being able to be Carried, but that's just my opinion. Until these things get addressed by WizKids (which is supposed to be the purpose of the "Past Rules" document, whenever they get around to it), these interpretations will have to fall on local judges.
just to remind people about this posting ... there has been a significant drop in "civility" on the HC Realms website in the past several weeks ...
remember, everyone, these two key facts:
1. it's a game with tiny plastic superheroes
2. we're all here because we want to play #1 and to understand it better
Don't be a "Richard". (apologies to all Dicks in this world)

Some of them even used to be official rules deputies and thus have a greater view into the inner workings of Wizkids (at least at that time). But this is ultimately a forum on a fan site. So we're all trying to do our best to figure out answers based on the information granted. And at a certain point, if we can't come to an agreement, it's probably better just to submit it to the WIN and let it lie.
I would argue that some of the Richardness would fade away if people followed ALL of the Steps. Step Four is important, but so are Steps One, Three and Five, which are ignored in the overwhelming majority of threads
I don't mind answering softball questions as it gives me an excuse to quote the rules and lead people towards the rulebook and show them how easy it is to find your own answers. There is a pattern though of people using the forum in a very lazy manner and taking it personally when it is pointed out they should read the rules. (Usually accompanied by complaining about Wizkids.)
First of all thanks for a friendly and informative reminder of so many good concepts to build a community foundation on.
Second, may I also suggest that when referring to the "rulebook" we differentiate between the rulebook that comes with the starter sets and the Comprehensive rulebook?
Keep up the great work!
"Johnny, what can you make of this?" "I can make a hat, a broach, a pterodactyl!!!"

Why would you bother? The one in starter sets isn’t even useful as toilet paper.
