That was the original announcement, but a while ago they separated the two, claiming Infinity War was going to be one movie - and the other one is likely going to just be the fallout/reboot/legacy stuff after the Phase 1 heroes die or something because contracts are up or what-have-you. Or maybe it'll be Ultimate Avengers rebooted or some alternate timeline thing after Thanos unmakes reality. It's still a mystery. So maybe it will be sort of a two-parter, but it won't be Infinity War Part II.

I would say that Black Panther, Dr. Strange, and GotG could trade places with each other at any given time. They're each excellent in their own ways, in my opinion.
I think I appreciate Dark World more than the other two Thor, mostly because of how Loki was portrayed, and how he and Thor worked together against Malekith. Ragnarok was highly entertaining, and while I really enjoyed it, I couldn't help but be disappointed that that's all there was to an MCU version of "Planet Hulk", and that it was so much of a comedy. On the other hand it's an example of Marvel taking a chance with something a bit different and unexpected, and succeeding.
Black Panther, along with Ant-Man, GotG, and Winter Soldier, is another example. And with each of them, they hit a home run. It's this, not just the consistent high quality and entertainment, that put the MCU in a league of its own, and which make it a high standard to meet.

It's too bad the X-verse isn't actually a part of the MCU. I've liked all of the X-Men movies, but saw Apocalypse some time after it came out, because it looked kinda bad. But it turns out that I really liked it.
Same for Sam Raimi's Spidey movies. Liked each of them, especially the first two, though Homecoming is a bit better, overall.

2. Homecoming

Oooh! I just found this thread and want to play. I've been bouncing a lot back and forth with my list, and depending on the day, any other one could be somewhere else. I'm not a film school movie critic, these are all purely based on the characters, and how much fun I had watching them.
So in order, favorite to least:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers
Ant-Man
Iron Man
Dr. Strange
Captain America
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Incredible Hulk
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Black Panther
Captain America: Civil War
Thor: Ragnarok
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Thor
Iron Man 2
Guardians had been my number once since release. I know the characters a lot, and it's a movie that by all rights should NOT have worked. But it did. I feel GotG 2 expanded, and we had a LOT of great character interactions. Avengers, hey, they were all together. Ant-Man was something new, as a heist movie. Iron Man started it all. Skipping around... we got a good Spider-Man, Keaton was amazing. And hey, the villain wasn't killed off! AoU and Black Panther could swap places I think. I've never cared one way or the other about the character, and know next to nothing about him, so there was no investment for me. Civil War, with tweaking could have just been the back half of AoU... meh. My last is Iron Man 2. It suffered from the writer's guild strike if I'm not mistaken.. lot of middle with NOTHING happening makes it hard to watch. I liked TDW more than the first as there was more Universe/story building. I know Winter Soldier being that low will surprise, but I'm not a big fan of Bourne type movies and that's what this felt like to me. Rangarok had more comedy than I would have liked. Which is weird because Guardians are my number 1/2... it's a "time/place" thing for me. Thor just doesn't feel like it should be slapstick. (That's just me). I actually didn't mind the "Trevor" bit, even before AHTK. I even mentioned after leaving the theater that it's likely the real Mandarin is out there and pissed off.
I honestly will be surprised if AIW doesn't jump to 2 or 3 for me. Really stoked for Captain Marvel as well.
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing

I keep trying to re-evaluate AoU to see if it had more than I saw when I've watched it, but I just keep winding up largely unsatisfied by it.

* This was a hard one for me, as it really should be 1 and 1A, but I have to give a slight edge to the Panther. Considering Winter Soldier has been up there for a long time for me, I guess it had to get dethroned eventually.
** The more I thought about Avengers... well, it was good, but it wasn't as good looking back as I like to think it was. Honestly, if I have a holiday weekend where I'm doing NOTHING, going back to rewatch all the movies isn't a bad idea.
*** This is about where I'd go from MCU movies being good to mediocre. GOTG2 just had very uneven humor compared to the first movie, and it felt like it reset the character development from the first GOTG. I do like humor in Marvel movies, or in general, but overdoing it undercuts the drama. And I think GOTG2 is guilty of that.
Surprise, AoU wasn't in the absolute bottom for me! Mainly because I think I could watch that over Iron Man 3 (despite All Hail the King, I feel that "twist" was idiotic on a bad M Night Shyamalan movie level) or Thor The Dark World (dark elves are basically Romulans without the bird fetish).
**** SPOILERS FOR INFINITY WAR FOLLOW.

Okay, so, I originally had Infinity War at #3 (just below BP/WS), but the more I think about it, the more I just have issues with it. It was a very cool retelling of the Thanos Quest and Infinity Gauntlet #1... but I dislike the "oh it's Avengers 4 not IW Part 2" fake-out as it CLEARLY is gonna be IW Part 2. I mean, come on, we know the Gauntlet deaths aren't going to stick. Seriously, Black Panther alone is a huge red flag for that.
Personally, IW's final ranking really depends on how Part 2 (regardless of the name) sticks the landing. Also, the Asgardians getting pretty badly screwed over after just surviving their homeworld being exploded reminded me of the problems I had with Logan immediately following the release of Days of Future Past.
"Yes, we went through all this trouble to fix the timeline... and whoops we all died out anyway."
"Yes, Asgard is not a place, it's a people... whoops we all died anyway."
Yeah, I know, it's a tragedy and it sounds like half the Asgardians escaped as is Thanos' style in the MCU (hopefully led by Valkyrie). But it just feels like there's no dramatic weight to the deaths considering we know there's a Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2, and GOTG vol 3 coming out. I just feel that if Cap or Tony were eliminated (for instance), there would be far more uncertainty in that regard.
Though if GOTG is now Thor, Rocket, Iron Man, Nebula? I'd be okay with that. Heck, give me a Thor/Rocket team-up movie!
