I CAN ADAPT SO MUCH FASTER THAN YOU: Whenever another character uses an effect that allows it choose one or more standard powers to use, after resolutions deal that character one unavoidable damage.
I'm sure we all agree that this power is interpreted to work when a character is given a choice to 'can use' a power, and I believe we would also all agree that the word 'choose' in a characters effect is not a prerequisite to trigger this. What is being proposed however is that it also triggers when an effect allows you to activate one power that you already 'can use'. Darwin's effect specifies 'one or more', so this would then even apply when there is only one option to choose from. This effectively becomes "Whenever another character uses an effect that allows it choose one power to activate" as one possibly interpretation of the effect. In that sense, if a character has a special power that grants both Close and Ranged Combat Expert for example, you are choosing one of them to activate, which would supposedly trigger Darwin's trait. I think if we follow the logic through, it doesn't make much sense, and therefore shouldn't trigger on Stargirl's, or similar, power.

I'm pretty sure you're the only one agreeing to any of that.
An effect specifically telling you to choose a power to use is what triggers Darwin. WK's themselves already made this pretty clear with their clarifications.
Not much of what you're saying here even makes any sense. Activating a power is not the same as an effect telling you to choose from a subset of things. The "one or more" wording in Darwin's power is there to cover effect that only include one standard power in their subset of choices, which WK's specifically states in the clarification. If you have a special power that is granting you both CCE and RCE, you are not being told to choose between them, you are able to use both.
Stop making ridiculous arguments.
Stargirl needs clarification. Right now, her power is worded a little oddly, in that it grants a second source of the chosen power. Technically, this is no different than having somebody equipped with an item that grants them a power that they already have. Its perfectly within the games ability to handle within the rules. Like I said before, though, its possible that its not the actual intent.
"Also note that the character must actually use the effect in order for Darwin's effect to trigger. If the effect is triggered and is optional and the character chooses nothing, then Darwin's effect will not trigger."
So does this mean that Daredevil would not actually take the one unavoidable damage until whichever turn he actually chooses to USE the Enhancement or Empower, rather than at the beginning of the game when he makes the choice? Or does it bypass him altogether if he doesn't use it in the same turn that he makes the choice (the choice here being made before the first turn even commences)? Likewise, if Vision chooses "Invulnerability and Super Strength to last until you choose again" but doesn't use it right away, does he circumvent Darwin's power, or does he take the damage on whichever turn he decides to eventually use it?

You take damage when you use the effect that allows you to choose. You do not take damage for using the power you chose.
Daredevil uses an effect that allows the player to choose a power at the beginning of the game. Daredevil takes damage at the beginning of the game, because that's when he used the effect that allowed him to choose.
Vision takes damage when he uses his effect that allows him to choose a power. He does not take damage again until he uses the effect that allows him to choose a power again.

Reason: Addressed DD and Vision examples.
