Good luck with that. As far as I can tell, he doesn't even come to the site anymore. I know people haven't been able to actually get a response from him through the site for quite some time, and the last person I know of to talk to him had to go to great lengths to contact him personally outside of the site.
To be perfectly honest, I'm fairly certain that this site is in very real danger of just not being here one day because no one bothered to pay the bills. Barring something like Typhon just outright selling the site to someone who actually wants to run and manage it, at best its just going to get to a point where site features (mostly Units) start to fall apart from neglect, leading to less traffic and donations, and it will atrophy and fade away.
I really don't know if HeroClix as a game is sustainable without this site, primarily for the Units section. WK's has shown no interest in supporting their own game, and are generally too incompetent to do it properly even if they wanted to (anybody else remember their brief foray into trying to create their own Units database? lol). The sad thing is I know games that are much, much smaller than HC that don't have this problem. I'm not sure I've ever seen a collectible/expandable game that had this kind of issue as far as creating and maintaining databases for deck/army/etc. building. Even with games where the databases are community run, they still typically get some kind of help/support from the company producing the game. WK's can't even get their own rules pdfs updated on their own site.
(ATTN WizKids: We're complaining because we love the game and want it to succeed.)

This is really depressing, but hits home as very true. Without the realms to look up different characters and build teams, it leaves a lot of players (ESPECIALLY NEWER) without a way to look into the game.
WizKids needs to seriously step up and take responsibility for their game and their player base.
After reading through this, it just pushed me even further into selling my collection and getting out of the game, even though it would tear me apart (Lisa!).
I use this site quite a bit. Especially the units section. If it falls apart that will definitely hurt the game. I use the unit section to put teams together. I can't find an app anywhere for this. Not for my iPhone or Kindle. I hate sitting on the floor going through card after card trying to add up a team to play.
I'd totally understand turning into a hermit for a while if this were a simple fan-site. However, this is the largest active community for an internationally played game. It is the ONLY option available for online team building. Typhon also actively receives money from donors. People are paying him to help with the maintenance. If he's starting to get tired/bored/burnt out from managing this community center, then at the very least he owes the donors some kind of explanation.
This whole topic reminds me of the shop issues we had a while back. Anyone else remember? A number of complaints ended up getting made because they bought stuff on the shop store and got nothing. People messaged Typhon, got no reply, and many had to have refunds resolved through PayPal.
Units and articles (about strategy, comic accurate builds or "lore" and so on...) give me the clix fix I need when I can't play the game for some reasons...I guess I'm not the only one in that case, so please keep them coming!
Hear our lament Lord Typhon
I hope Typhon isn't missing from the site due to a health problem. That said, if he's in good health then abandoning it without setting up a leader in his absence is irresponsible.
For many years I've ignored the doomsayers who regularly claim that Heroclix is near its end. This week, it looks like they are finally right. What little news has come from Wizkids about the game isn't hopeful (WWE isn't likely to save the game), and despite just releasing the best DC set in years, there seems to be no enthusiasm in the community. Just look at the prices most Batman:TAS and X-Men:XS super-rares and chases are selling for compared to previous sets when they were new.
Now would be a great time for some good news about the game. I've been with it since Infinity Challenge, and never before has morale been so low -- including when Wizkids went out of business!
This site has been a hub for teambuilding, trading, selling, buying, learning, and strategizing since I started playing. It seems these days that this may not be the centerpiece we once enjoyed. Since nobody seems to want to maintain a database of units for Apple products, the units section here is all there is. Now that it seems to be not updated completely there really is nothing out there. My thought is, if this site keeps trending the way of a ghost town, someone else should format something like it for the community. It seems Wizkids is not going to. Howard and Pat seem to be the two biggest promoters of Heroclix so I wonder if they could put something together or even buy this site from Typhon and attempt to rejuvenate it.
Am I missing something? The units sections is missing some stuff from the batman set and the Con LEs, but the last set came out mid July. That is not that long ago. Im sure I have waited for the units section to be update much longer than that in the past. I know its volunteers that run the site, so I never really complain about it.
Heck I don't even see to low morale concerns that people are bringing up knowing that the batman tas set had the most activity in the evidence thread of any set that I can remember. Again, that was July.
Winning the game means little if it is not with the characters that I would want to win!
