For Thanos, things had gotten complicated. He had a respect for Adam Warlock that had been developed BECAUSE of the Infinity Gauntlet ordeal. Adam Warlock had also wielded the Gauntlet and knew what he had dealt with.

That's the key reason they were now friends, despite what had gone before.

The Phantom Stranger was on hand, though surreptitiously. He knew something big was going down. He needed to observe it first hand.

He wasn't the only one. The Time Trapper was very concerned about the things that were going down. He (she) or it was monitoring things very closely.

Day 82: Dawn; the replicated planet Sera, in an alternate universe

The In-Betweener learned that he too was not immune to being kidnapped from his reality.

The In-Betweener emerged from the rift in reality and after assessing his surroundings, took note of the presence of Thanos and Adam Warlock. He ignored the presence of Captain Comet and the Grey Hulk.

"Where am I? What is this place?" He demanded from Thanos and Adam Warlock.

They explained that he was on a war ravaged planet called Sera.

It was about then that the In-Betweener saw that Adam Warlock possessed the Soul Gem. The In-Betweener coveted the Soul Gem. He ordered Adam Warlock to turn it over to him.

When Adam balked the In-Betweener attacked him.

Thanos leapt to the aid of Adam Warlock and the two of them began fighting off the In-Betweener's attack.

Marcus Fenix and his team weren't sure what they should do. This all seemed way out of their league. Captain Comet and the Grey Hulk stood between them and the battle to try to protect them but otherwise didn't get involved because neither of them knew anything about the In-Betweener and neither of them trusted Thanos.

Suddenly a Boom Tube appeared.

Darkseid himself emerged from the Boom Tube. He wasn't alone.

Emerging from the Boom Tube with Darkseid were the Key, Kalibak, the General, (formerly a Shaggy Man before General Wade Eiling stole it's body.) Major Force, Lashina, Knockout and Granny Goodness, Deathstroke the Demolisher and Doomsday, He also had Professor Ivo and T.O. Morrow with Amazo and the Sentinels that were created from the technology that Darkseid had stolen when he first came to this reality.

Darkseid came for war. He was going to collect the Infinity gems for himself.

A second Boom Tube arrived and out of it spewed parademons.

Darkseid intended to claim those Infinity Gems, but only one gem was on hand at the moment and the In-Betweener was doing his best to claim it.

Captain Comet remembered his problems with Darkseid when he was dealing with the Secret Society of Super Villains. He still had the welfare of the GoW force to consider. They were in tremendous danger and he wasn't sure if he and the Grey Hulk could fend off these numbers. They stood fast and waited.

Darkseid had no idea who Thanos and Adam Warlock were fighting. He ordered Doomsday to break it up. To Darkseid's surprise, the In-Betweener swatted Doomsday away. Darkseid did not know that the In-Betweener was possibly equal to Galactus himself.

The Parademons began wreaking havoc and tried to attack the GoW force. the Grey Hulk and Captain Comet were kept busy as were Marcus Fenix and his team.

Thanos and Adam Warlock were grateful for the distraction from the attack by Doomsday on the In-Betweener.

They were soon attacked themselves by Amazo and Kalibak. Thanos fighting Amazo while Kalibak attacked Adam Warlock.

Right about then, Pip the Troll teleported in the Infinity Watch team along with Mar-Vell and Quasar.

Quasar intercepted Major Force and engaged him in battle. Moondragon found herself in the middle of Granny Goodness, Knockout and Lashina.

Mar-Vell battled some of the Sentinel robots..

Gamora was challenged by Deathstroke.

The General attacked Thanos.

Darkseid himself advanced on Adam Warlock, intent on retrieving the Soul Gem.

Pip the Troll found himself attacked by the Key.

T.O. Morrow sent the Sentinels to back up Darkseid.

Mantis found her way to join the battle. She hurried to help Pip the Troll but was intercepted by a Sentinal.

Lobo, Venom and Carnage arrived at the summons of Thanos. They began attacking the Sentinels, terrifying T.O, Morrow who cowered in fear behind the giant robots at the sight of all three.

The In-Betweener was stunned by the resilience of this Doomsday creature that had attacked him. The beast just got back up and attacked him again and again relentlessly.

Eventually, the In-Betweener became tired of dealing with the monster and when he suddenly received orders from Chaos and Order to cease the battle and return to his post a frustrated In-Betweener teleported to his traditional station which surprisingly, now existed in this reality, as did his masters, Chaos and Order.

The Magus arrived. Tantalized by the thought of possessing the Infinity Gems himself.

Thanos saw that he was locked in a face off between himself and Darkseid again. He sent for a horde of the Xenomorph Aliens to counter the Sentinels that had been brought by Darkseid.
