With Hulk, would it make since to simply choose to give him action tokens instead of soul tokens? It cuts down his ability to act without pushing, but eases any Banner stress.
Not really.
Facing an Outwitter you want to get 1 Soul token on his ASAP to protect his movement and defense powers. If I'm not facing an outwitter I might be a bit more blase about taking that Soul token just walking up the field.
After that, I'd only collect Soul tokens for attacking - especially when he loses Invincible. Again, facing Penetrating damage, he needs the 3 tokens to get the protection for his defense against those powers.
It's odd, but Hulk is a very finesse figure to maximize his value. I think I'd prefer him in a smaller game where I can better manage him. If I was running 6+ figures, I think it might be easy to forget something that could cripple him.
As for me, I pulled SR Spider-Woman and faced 0 SR's, myself although I did see Lady Octopus, Venom, Loki, Gorgon, Medusa, Iron Man, X-51 and the SR Prime pulled.
Mattie did well for me in 2/3rds my games.
Game 1 she was great at pinging away especially with the support I had from the Tinkerer. Game went to time but she helped take out Ezekiel when he hit her to Poison.
Game 2 was a nail-biter. I was winning big and then the opponent came roaring back. I had 2 Perplexers and would up her attack to a 12 so ensure hits She was the last one standing although she never left her top click.
Game 3, the team crumbled under the pressure pulling up 1 short on every roll I needed. Mattie scored a Crit Miss, a failed HSS breakaway, and some "missed by 1" attacks which netted me a loss.
Overall, I'm keeping her mainly due to her providing something the Spiders lack enough of: long range strike capability and a taxi.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Daredevil is a beast. I had him with President Osborn so he was even better. The only thing that held me back was I kind of played him wrong. I was playing him by removing his tokens when the 6 came out instead of after resolutions. Simple but big difference. So one game he got KO’ed because i made a gamble using Energy Explosion with him as one of the targets despite being friendly... I ended up rolling a 6 with one of the dice. That made Daredevil Ko faster in that game alon with the fact I played him wrong.
He was my number 1 want from the set and after playing with him... I have so many ideas for him. He might be undercosted at 60. He seems to be a different more offensive version of HaHa joker.
Loki... I had to play him at 150. He was the only legit attacker I pulled outside of Daredevil. He ended up being used just for his trait. It’s a really good trait but I don’t know if it’s 150 points good. I didn’t play him at his lower line because I wanted someone on my team that could deal with opposing Mystics. Loki at 150 is good but not optimal because he lacks move/Attack AND indom. He needs one of the two to really be worth his point value and score at least his point value.
I pulled and played Spider-Woman (a) and Loki (@125). I wasn't impressed with either of them in sealed. Loki might have done better at his higher point dial, if he has someone boosting his defenses each turn. Spider-Woman missed all but 1 of her attacks in three games.
As for Loki's , I often waited until what would have been the 'end' of my turn to trigger it. On a few occasions, I rolled 5 or 6, which convinced me to push one of my characters. This felt thematic.
I pulled Iron Man in our sealed battle royales, but we played a weird format where we passed around two boosters and then just picked 5 figures that we pulled and only had 3 actions to work with. I don't think it was particularly thought out, the judge just kind of threw it out there. So I never had enough actions to really work with. Still, he and his Iron Avengers are pretty great. If you're playing a regular sealed game I don't think you'd have this issue, especially if you pull a leadership figure.
Readily agree about that Venom. At 75 points he's kinda meh. At 50 points he'll definitely return on the investment.
Sadly agree about Loki. If for some reason this was a TK-heavy set he'd be a... god. As it stands if I pull him I'll probably only play him out of loyalty to the character, not the dial.
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.

As a rule of thumb, if I pull a Super Rare, Prime, or Chase I have to play it. If I pull a chase or a sr, I've already won.

This is how I feel! I don't recommend players "taking a dive" by building below their potential, but if there isn't anything on the line in a pre-release event, why not try out new figures? ...especially higher rarity figures?
I can recommend playing Loki, but actually just to have fun with him. If you remember BOTH his traits he can be a real PITA. My build didn't do well for me, but I didn't play him at full-dial and I didn't really let him be the centerpiece of the team.

Loki being a SR was mainly the reason why I elected to play him. Well that and because my other options were two Hydra generics, two Police Sergeants, and Crime Master (he’s not bad). Even with Loki’s shortcomings and him sabotaging the team at times, I still had fun using him.
I pulled Lady Octopus and she was the MVP of my swarm team in all 3 games. Charge+Flurry+Heavy Object is just too nasty for so cheap a cost. IMO she is an auto-play.

The game I faced her... I definitely treated her like a threat because of what her equipment did.unfortunately she is probably a better constructed figure than sealed. When I faced her, she had plenty of taxis and a lot of ways to alpha strike my team. But her shallow dial hurts. I think my team was just a bad matchup for her. It was a situation for her team of “damned if you do and damned if you don’t”. She just doesn’t have a deep enough dial to make the gamble.
Also remember that you can’t use objects with flurry anymore. Even without that, she has crazy damage potential. She is only 50 points, so she will wreck people.

This is not a "remember", this is completely new news to me!
