Technically two 0 attack monsters can destroy each other as a result of battle. Waboku would prevent your 0 attack monster from being destroyed, though.

i don't think so..since attack and battle damage are 2 different things..if a 0 atk monster attacks another 0 atk monster neither monster takes any battle damage and since no battle damage or 0 battle damage is made, neither monster is destroyed..

That is not correct.
0 is not "nothing" - it is 0. Both monsters DO take battle damage. In fact, they both take 0 damage.
Plus, if you read the rule book, it says "if the atk values are equal, both monsters are destroyed"

0 = 0, so both monsters are destroyed.
1) the rule book states "rules" as a general. if we will rule "if the atk values are equal, both monster are destroyed" as an absolute rule, then waboku will be useless. waboku's effect doesnt change, only the printed text so that it will be clearer to the players. IF we will rule what you have quoted from the rule book as an absolute rule then:
IF
then:
both gemini elvs will be destroyed because waboku DOES NOT REDUCE AN OPPONENT'S MONSTER BY 0, it only reduces the BATTLE DAMAGE done by opponent's monster(s) and since both gemini elvs' atk are 1900 then both will be destroyed.
but things don't go that way. if a monster receives 0 battle damage then it will not be destroyed. and if a monster attacks with 0 atk, automatically it gives 0 battle damage to the opposing monster and given that there are no spell cards or any effect that is activated, 0 atk vs 0 atk means 0 battle damage, hence no monster destroyed.
0 DOES EQUAL nothing. If you attack directly with Spirit Reaper and your opponent flips Wabaku, your opponent DOES NOT discard.
However, if a 0 attack monster attacks a 0 attack monsterthen tehy both die. However, using your wabaku example, the gemini elf is saved why?
Simple.
Both Elves are ready to deal each other battle damage. 1900 attack worth of it. Since wabaku reduces all the damage the other Gemini Elves would inflict to 0 it means it does no damage. It doesnt even hurt the other elve, meanwhile the other elve stil does all battle damage.
If Player A had a "Gemini Elf" and declared an attack on Player B's "Archfiend Soldier" and Player B activated "Waboku" in response to the attack, Player A's "Gemini Elf" would be destroyed in battle.
"Waboku" makes the battle damage that "Gemini Elf" was to inflict on "Archfiend Soldier" 0 but Archfiend Soldier would still attempt to deal damage of 1900 to "Gemini Elf" and thus would destroy it. Its always a battle of power.

you've just said it "0 DOES EQUAL nothing" therefor 0 atk monster vs 0 atk monster...each monster receives 0 BATTLE DAMAGE or "nothing" then they are not destroyed..how come a monster receiving 0 or "nothing" battle damage be destroyed? it doesn't make sense.
IF we will accept that
atk 0 vs atk 0 = both monster are destroyed
then
waboku will be useless with mucus yolk vs mucus yolk
why:
mucusyolk(1) atk 0 vs mucusyolk(b) atk 0 = my1 receives 0 battle damage and my2 receives 0 battle damage is synonymous to:
mucusyolk(1) atk 0 vs mucusyolk(2) atk 0 (with waboku)= my1 receives 0 battle damage and my2 receives 0 battle damage bcoz of waboku then both are destroyed..
All this is a moot point. Sure, you receive no Battle Damage from a monster that has 0 attack.
Monsters cannot inflict Damage unless they do at least "1" life points worth of Damage, which is why monsters like Raging Flame Sprite and Mucus Yolk will not get their increase unless they do so.
Unfortunately, Damage Calculation is still performed. If a 0 attack monster attacks another attack position monster that has 0 attack as well, while there may not be any "overflow" damage, monsters with equal attack are BOTH destroyed. That's the way it goes.
Hey guys, let's not forget that Waboku was erratad yet again to the following text:
You take no Battle Damage this turn. Your monsters cannot be destroyed as a result of battle this turn.
Notice that they've changed the wording from to "no" Battle Damage, which is significantly different than "0". 0 is still a quantitative value, albeit small. Consider it this way...
When two monsters battle its like a slugging contest where each monster gets a chance to take a poke at the other to see if they can meet or exceed their threshold of tolerance (hence the term damage "calculation").
Let's look at Archfiend Soldier vs. Sonic Duck. Sonic Duck goes first and takes a swing with a big stick and smacks Archfiend Soldier for 1700 points of damage. However, since Archfiend Soldier has a "tolerance" of 1900, he isn't destroyed. Now its Archfiend Soldier's turn. He takes a swing with a big stick and bam. He does 1900 points of damage. Since Sonic Duck's "toldrance" is only 1700, Sonic Duck is destroyed. Even worse, since Soldier's swing was a whopping 200 points higher than Duck's tolerance, the controller of Sonic Duck has to take 200 points off of their own life points.
Now let's look at this with Waboku in place. Duck swings as usual, and fails to meet the "tolerance" of the Soldier. Now Soldier goes to take a swing. Just as Archfiend Soldier goes to follow through with his swing, somebody pulls the stick out of his hands. Whiff! Sonic Duck still stands. Did Sonic Duck take "0" points of damage? No, because Archfiend Soldier pulled a Casey Jones and just missed all togehter. The attack wasn't negated, it just failed to do any kind of damage whatsoever.
Notice how Kuriboh's text is different as well, still retaining the literal 0 value for battle damage inflicted. Kuriboh doesn't prevent the monster from being destroyed, it prevents any "splash over" damage from being inflicted to your lifepoints.
The confusion about 0 meaning nothing comes more from the rulings involving Mefist/Airknight and the like. It is better to think of this as "there must be at least one iota above 0" of damage dealt in order to qualify for its effects.
All this is a moot point. Sure, you receive no Battle Damage from a monster that has 0 attack.

then asses the following using the old text of waboku (because the new text is much clearer and we know that player's monster cant be destroyed):
1) mucus yolk atk 0 vs mucus yolk atk 0
2) mucus yolk atk 0 vs mucus yolk atk 0 with waboku
3) mucus yolk atk 0 with waboku vs mucus yolk atk 0 with waboku
cause in my analysis, those 3 situations results in 0 battle damage.. if we are to rule that "monsters with equal atk are destroyed" as an absolute rule then those 3 situation results in both monsters destroyed.
but since it DOES NOT result in both monsters are destroyed, that's why upper deck made a clearer version of waboku..but logically,it works the same ever since..
