I like the pics on this game overall. Its lame to others, but to me the art is great and not much exagerated and very easy to look at. Will it come out with holos? Where are the rules for this game? Where can I go and buy a box?
you guys are all saying this game is better then YGO since i've seen practically all of you on YGO Realms. i bet half of you think YGO is better then M:TG right? heh, this game takes some aspects from ALOT of card games, makes it easy to learn, but still challenging to win. using your cards for multiple purpouses is more challenging then you'd think. because your not going to be able to redo what you did later on. makes the game VERY strategic.
your also saying this game wont go far without an anime...well, M:TG has been out 10 years, and do they have an Anime? yeah, i thought so...
think before you guys post. give this game a chance. i bet you guys will like it as much as Yu-Gi-Oh.
DuelMasters will have an anime, but the big thing is, its coming from a major company that knows their stuff.
This will be similar to magic, and it will play much like it.
If you really hate magic, you may not like this.
BUT this game has enough to make it a unique game that i think this will take off in a great way!
As for those who got the "first post" lol. I had it WAY before you guys, before the site went public! take a look at my member ID, Drad and typhon are members 1 and 2.........
Well I read the rules and it does sound very fun. Can't wait till March. {Evo decks, Invader of chaos, and this!} I think if it has an anime {Note-I know M:TG doesn't have an anime.} then it will take off due to lil kids running ramped for it. :p
Magic:TG did have a cartoon for awhile, it was very bad.
In Japan this is a semi-popuar game, but no where near the level Yugioh is at the moment, both in the TCG and anime.
It could get there in time, since its a fun simple game and anime.
As for the TCG, if I was still an avid fan of MTG (i.e. playing it all the time) I wouldn't like this game as its just to simple with similar concepts.
However since I stopped playing Magic all that much, I can enjoy this game for what it is, a simple magic-tapping-creature game.
As Jypsy said though it does have enough to make it unique, and that little amount makes it worth it, as long as your aren't looking into the game too much (such as expecting it to beat all other TCGs).
I'm curious as to how well this will do in the states and Europe (don't worry Kamiza, Hasbro has plans to release it here) once it comes out.
Until then I will have fun playing it in Japan when I visit, just like how I sometimes enjoy playing Black Jack instead of Poker when I go to Las Vegas.
Eat, drink, and be merry for I shall be playing when the time comes.

Well, according to WOTC press release...
"In Japan, the DUEL MASTERS Trading Card Game has ranked #1 in toy and game category sales for the past eight consecutive months, according to "Toy Weekly" magazine. Millions of kids in Japan have enjoyed watching the "Duel Masters" TV series and reading the DUEL MASTERS comics."
I think it's safe to assume that it's dominating and has already reached the level Yu-Gi-Oh is currently in here in the US, no?
