yeah, i'm surprised DM is growing this rapidly...about 3-4 months ago it was like #12, now i realize that once a game is bigger than one of those (such as pokemon or neopets) it beats the rest of them. But I'm glad it's above those now.
I do agree that it will stay 4 for awhile, but it could sill catch up to something in the long run
This ia actually great news...but who is shadowpenguin and where did he come from? He's the only one here with a warning level, and I wonder if he even plays DM.
WotC knows what they are doing with their managed growth of the game -- some people were unhappy that it did just flood the scene and scream PLAY ME from Day 1. Next year (Year 3) should be the point where they get peak brand awareness and attract the greatest number of players -- and it is that point that they'll find out whether they can sustain it. Some of the early adopters will move on to something else or move away from gaming completely -- the trick will be to attract and retain new gamers to keep the DM population steady.

It encourges them to cheat by breaking the rules: on the tv show they do all sorts of that stuff like in 1 turns I win because I have obelisk, the tormentor.
The TV shows does not play with offical rules (4000 lp = anime ) (8000 = real TCG)
two:
Obelisk the tormentor can not be used in offcial play. (has no efffect on card anyway) (and i dont think you can summon obelick on first turn any way.)
Any way so what if kids cheat the more mature and veteran duelists like my self never cheat.
I don't mean to be mean, but you cannot even possibly conjure the idea that Duelmasters would ever beat Magic the Gathering in sales. Personally, I prefer Duelmasters much more than Magic, but when you look at things like the prereleases in Neutral Ground, New York, New York. It atracts 2500 people or so on each weekend a new prerelease occurs. Duelmasters had 38 people at my local invite, and 34 at the Neutral Ground store. I'm sorry, but chance or luck isn't even an issue.
Well they did summon it first turn on the show!Oh and just so you know everyone cheats in Yu-Gi-Oh! not in thestacking way but just by playing the game if you dont understand that then you should quit. All Im saying is that the only reason Yu-Gi-Oh! is beating Duelmasters is because of stupid little kids!
Or old men who cant use their brains so they turn to YGO. Basically if you have a BLS, the easy to get, over used cards, and support for BLS you stand a chance. Add extreme luck to those and you're a winner. I you dont fall into all these categories, quit.
I'm glad Duel masters is #4 even if its just lucky enough to beat every other barley played games. I always find myself coming back to the game after quitting and its a lot of fun...now i just need to find stores that actually hold and have enough people for tournies....
Duel Masters seems very cool, but I think little kids like to Yu-gay-Oh because of the cool monsters and the ones with the awesome attack points and video games. And really in Duel Masters Booster packs of which I will get tommorrow(first trading cards for Duel Masters but is so cool) is that you can get 10 cards and YGO is about 5 I think. Overall if the creatures make more video games than them they can overcome YGO.
In japanese yugioh packs its five cards. In the u.s. its 9 cards.
I expect duelmasters to get even more popular as time goes by. Those who say the game is too simplistic will have their mouths slammed shut when they see the complex new cards like "wave striker" "vortex" or "cross gear" class cards.
I win if any of the games I play stay popular. DM is my fav game, the reason I got back into playing TCGs after I left YGO b/c of time constraints (kids, school, and work). Top 4 is where this game needs to stay. This game is hella good, and it's in the top without having broken cards (US version), being a money pit, and without tons of money shelled out as prizes. Nice.
Yeah I don't think duelmasters is going to get out of the number 4 spot soon, and as long as it doesn't go down I don't care that mush about it's rank or position in the top four.
P.S. Cecillbill, I love the bunny in your sig. It's Hilarious. To the the edit profile page! Whoosh!

The show is a very inaccurate basis on which to judge such a game. Literally Yu-Gi-Oh! requires more strategy and has more cards than Duel Masters currently does. I strongly believe that the only reason you seem to loathe Yu-Gi-Oh! is the imminent idea that you don't play. Don't be a noob.
