As for a good side deck cards, I think Chain Strike x2 and trap board eraser are great cards to side against burn. This is how I would build a side for the SJC=
SIDE DECK-
3x Chain Strike
2xDes Wombat
3xBanisher of the Radiance
3xPikeru's Circle of Enchantment
1x Ceasefire
1x Mobius
2x Goldd
I think there will be a few people playing either hand control or DW. The Goldds have a chance at helping you. Chain Strike is for burn decks and Chain burn. I would put Trap Board Eraseer in your side but alot of players don't like it. Good Luck at the SJC.
D.D.
I guess that side depends on your main deck, but it'll fail against Cosmos/DDS. Which is gaining immensly in popularity.
After a lot of testing and some changes to the lineup, here is my latest gadget build for SJ in Orlando. Right now the side deck is just temporary, need suggestions and ideas for it, thanx!!
-2 Drillroid
-1 Snipe Hunter
+Magician of Faith
+D.D. Warrior Lady
DDWL is up to you, but I seriously would run MoF in the deck. Drillroid is optional too since it doesn't stop Frog and most likely they'll get Sangan's effect anyway, but 3 Snipe Hunter seems a bit much IMO.

Spells-13
1xConfiscation
3xFissure
1xGraceful Charity
1xHeavy Storm
1xLimiter Removal
1xMystical Space Typhoon
1xNobleman of Crossout
1xOverload Fusion
3xSmashing Ground
I'm not really sure if Overload Fusion is even necessary since the idea should be to reuse your Gadgets. Overload Fusion pretty much stops that possibility cold. Pot of Avarice is pretty much a staple in a Gadget deck. So is Magician of Faith.

Traps-13
1xMirror Force
1xRing of Destruction
3xSakuretsu Armor
3xSolemn Judgment
1xTorrential Tribute
1xUltimate Offering
3xWidespread Ruin
Solemn Judgment, Ring of Destruction, and Ultimate Offering, together that is, are going to kill you rather quickly. Life Points do matter you know. This isn't a format of Return decks where you can flip a single card and win. You should be using as much of your Life Points as possible to use Ultimate Offering multiple times. Honestly, I do see things like Dust Tornado and Forced Back getting mained in Gadget decks for a bit of controlling power over the opponent. So those are some ideas.

SIDE DECK-
3xZaborg the Thunder Monarch
3xDes Wombat
3xBanisher of the Radiance
3xBottomless Trap Hole
3xPikeru's Circle of Enchantment
I'm just going to tell you this. The side board sucks.
SIDE DECK-
3xZaborg the Thunder Monarch
3xDes Wombat
3xBanisher of the Radiance
3xBottomless Trap Hole
3xPikeru's Circle of Enchantment
This is a Gadget deck. Banisher isn't really needed. It's so random. BTH at 3? The problem with his Side is it isn't doing more. There isn't even any point in using BTH if he already has three Armor and Ruin in the deck. He's going to need something to help handle the back field in matches against non-Chain Burn decks. Also, what is he going to side out for those Zaborg when his monster line up already has problems as it is? All I really see him siding out is copies of Drillroid and/or Snipe Hunter. IMO his side sucks cause it doesn't do that much for him. His deck isn't that bad and all my changes are just preference anyway.
As i said when i posted the deck, the side deck was just a template nothing was set in stone it was just an outline of what it might look like. But i had reasons for including all of those things in my side deck. I have been testing for the last few weeks and the decks i have had problems are-
Dark World
Horus/Decree
Chain Strike/Burn
Those were the only decks in testing that presented problems so my side deck was-
3xZaborg-To kill Horus lv6 or 8. Also if they graceful 2 goldds and i dont have enough monster removal at my desposal i will get killed pretty quick.
3xDes Wombat-Chain strike/burn decks plain and simple.
3xBanisher of the radiance- Again works against Horus and Dark world. But also when they start ramming recruters into my gadgets.
3xBottomless Trap Hole- Dark World, Monarchs people running mirage dragons and pitch-black warwolf.
3xPikeru's Circle of Enchantment- Once a chain strike deck has gone to chain link 5 with chain strike, flip. I take no damage and all their cards are useless.
The side deck was designed to handle what i have found the gagdets can not handle. Also running 45 cards this is the worst deck to side deck becuase there is less of a chance you are going to draw your side decked cards earlier when they are needed.
Well, I've changed it a little again after some more playtesting. I found the deck hurts when the opp plays defense and I can do much damage to their lp. So after a few changes it now incoporates Chimeratech a Future Fusion to either dump cyber dragons or just dump everything for Chimeratech.
The rest of what was said was pretty much spot on, but I'd keep the BTH in the sideboard for another reason. Phoenix and V-Lord, which are prime anti-gadget cards.
That is however all they are really good for, so I don't really see why you mainboarded three now.

The Bottomless Trap Hole's are working out very well for me right now. During testing i have found them to be better than Widespread Ruin and i am really liking them at the moment. I've tested this deck against decks running only 9 monsters with 1500 atk or more and bottomless was never a dead card for me. If it ever becomes a dead card i can use it for snipe hunter discard fodder.

I don't disagree on that last statement, however you want to keep summoning gadgets and making trades with spells and traps. You only summon snipe when that tactic is no longer feasible.
I almost want to see a Future + 2x Overload in here just to take advantage of your 12 macines. That and Overloads make nice late-game topdecks while Snipe helps deal with inconsistancy.
Still the same things pretty much. I take it you've now decided on an overload gadget build instead of real fifth gadget build, in which case I'd drop one or two of my 141 cards for giant trunades (I'd hate to see you lose so much potential on a deck by cutting pot of avarice, only to see your chimeratech fail against a defensive trap or a defense position monster).
Still think there is no way you can run 3 solemn judgments and expect to live. one or two will end up in hand early on, and if you choose to use them, that will be a lot of lifepoints.

I am kinda having a few problems with this deck right now. When i run avarice it gets me more advantage but doesnt really help as much as i want it to. I found running the avarice build has trouble dealing with fd monsters and only performs well when my opp plays more aggro. So i tried to make the deck so it could handle those problems, but the problem is i found the Chimeratech build a little less consistant than the avarice build.
Right now I am trying to build a deck that is consistant, and i just haven't found the right combination yet. That's what playtesting is all about and i'm gonna be doin some more today so i will probably have a new build and more problems by the end of the day.
Well if you have preference for a chimeratech build then go with that. Focus on running a solid chimeratech build with the gadgets in it, and then complete it with the most useful 141's. You may want to opt for only 6 gadgets and a 40 card deck as well.
