If I were to go about throwing together a Horus build we'd be talking something along the lines of using Dragon's Mirror as a late game bomb, Future Fusion as a tutor/ deck thinner, and a large compliment of dragons in order to fuel a small contingent of Cyber Darks; probably just CD Horns though.
Hey hotfire, do you have YVD? I wanna face the horus deck when you finish it.
no i don't its because of window's vista it wont work for some reason. also SB i need royal alot i cant stress how important it is in my build. im almost done so i'll post it when its finished, that way if u want copy the deck on yvd and use it on someone else.
I've always loved horus but I felt with the release of raiza he was dead. Never really thought to combo it with king dragun. I played one match on yvd against a monarch player and owned him pretty badly.
Still both games I got extremely good hands(match 2, by turn 3 I had king dragun, decree and horus lv 8) so my victories were somewhat lucky. Both games he had 5+ dead cards in hand, so it was pretty nuts.
What my one match did show me was if you can make it work consistently it can cause HUGE problems for your opponent as it will lock down 95% of their deck.
Definitely something I plan on playing with more.
Xav if you want to test with me shoot me a pm, we'll see if we can make this a viable deck.
i played the deck today. omg the thing can be broken. once u get king dragun, horus and decree it's over. ryu what did u use. i used the dragon way(divine dragon ragnorok) and played against the so called metagame decks. horus beat them more times than he lost. only lost badly to a deck that bounced cards to the top of the deck then uses conscription to beat u. After that testing im going to def play this at reginals on the 15.
here some things i need to change from the build above.
1. card trooper needs to go. i dumped horus lv 8 and dragons mirror during a duel that i would have won had i got those cards.
2. i need to get more defense. thinking about spirit reaper and gellenduo.
3. thinking about changing the dragon way and using tomatoes and newdoria i think it might be better.
things that need to stay.
1. my poker face. some of my opponents were scared to death to attack my mask dragon once they knew that i could get out divine gragon ragnorok with it and my back field was most likley decree.
2. decree man i love this card with people running trap dustshoots and the staple traps i can get some free hits with this.
3. leaving only one horus lv 8. drawing two is not funny at all.
4. the king dragun. this card is the reason i won so many games. no snipe hunter, brain control or raiza.
+3 Mystic Tomato
+3 GK Spys
+1 Dark Hex
+1 Spirit Reaper
+1 Newdoria
+1 Pot of Avarice
+1 Enemy Controller
With this method you can use Tomatos and Spys to maintain field presence and possibly stall, or swarm when you want to push for damage using Decree. With another Hex you can use Tomato to swap into either of the Fusion pieces depending on what you need and bring out Dragun. I think getting him out should be your top priority, once it hits the field you have the easiest time in getting your combo started.
To be honest I dont know how far my help could take you, Im sure there are others who will argue with this concept. But basically I wanted to give you more options to stall and speed up the process of summoning Dragun.

need to go:
1. card trooper--agreed, dumping horus lv 8 is def a bad thing.
2. a reaper would be fine, especially since your running tomato so you can search him out.
3. well I use 2 masked dragon, 2 tomato, 1 divine dragon, 2 lord of d, and 2 dark hex sealed, plus of course sangan. That gives lots of ways to search out my necessary pieces and generally its not hard to find king dragun out on the field early.
need to stay:
1. lol, king dragun + horus is a scary sight for anyone. I only play online but I cant help grinning when there sitting next to eachother and I have a f/d decree.
2. agreed. Decree is a must, I was leaning towards rugs but with dragun protecting horus from raiza and snipe hunter decree protects you from your big threats (things like TT and mirror force)
3. disagree- while drawing 2 horus lv 8 sucks, and it does happen, although not that often, you know what sucks more? Having one horus lv8, drawing it opening hand, then getting confiscated, thestalos, reaper etc. I find that happens more than I draw 2 horus lv 8 opening hand. and although neither situation is good, I feel option B is the lesser of the 2 evils.
4. Look at the meta. When you have king dragun on the field with horus lv 8 and a decree, there is no one card in the game that can stop you. Your opponent has to really work to break that kind of lock. Many times that kind of field leaves your opponent with a hand of dead cards. I have always believed king dragun had a load of potential, and with horus next to him it is super crazy. Hes so good that I would say if he had 2450 attack he would be broken.

I wanted to focus on getting king d and horus out. THe masked dragons and tomatoes add field presence and make it very easy to search out the pieces I need. Normally I have never used horus lv 4, but in my mind the sooner I get my lock on, the better my chances are of my opponent having nothing to counter it. PLus horus could take out 90% of the commonly played 4 and under monsters in the game.
traps:
self explanantory, the call is there to reuse horus 6 or king dragun.
Magic:
3 dragons mirror may seem a bit much, but I find I can get the necessary pieces in the grave quick enough to make it worht my while. Plus late game you can always grab a fhd so its rarely a dead card for long.
Confiscation is key in this deck. No deck like this should be without it. Your opp will usually not have a lot of answers for you so being able to take the one they do have is game. One match I played I had horus and decree(no dragun) I attacked sangan(f/d) and they fetch snipe hunter. I confiscate, their hand: brain control, snatch steal, pot of avarice, snipe. : )
Quickplays are mainly there for king dragun. Many times people will run their monarchs into dragun to get him off the field so they help keep him safe from those kinds of moves.
Still on the fence with my body. For now it stays just as an added layer of protection. 1500 lp is nothing to negate torrential or mirror force when horus lv 6 is attacking a monster with dragun next to him.
Still havnet tested it as much as I like, but I'll keep at it. It def has more potential than I thought. I originally though a fusion + a nomi with summoning conditions would be way too hard to pull off but as it stands its not as bad as you would think.
Now a question:
I'm thinking of adding in 1 copy of either refusion or lv modulation. Do you think either of them are worth it and which one would you add?
Mystic Tomato x2
Sangan
Dark Hex x2
Spirit Reaper
Masked Dragon x3
Lord of D. x2
Troop Dragon x2
Divine Dragon Ragnorak
Newdoria
Twin-Headed Behemoth
Spell: 15
Dragon's Mirror x3
Heavy Storm
Premature Burial
Snatch Steal
Creature Swap
Swords of Revealing Light
Brain Control x2
Pot of Avarice
Enemy Controller x3
Trap: 4
Ring of Destruction
Royal Decree x3
Fusions:
FGD x3
King Dragun x3
Now, the idea is simpe. Masked Dragon and Tomato are my searchers. Masked Dragon can fetch itself, and again, then fetch Troop Dragon if need be. Troop Dragon can provide defense as well. This idea provides two things:
a) Deck Thinning:
I think deck thinning is important in this deck, so we can draw Decree, and the overall Combo better
b) Defense. Nothing like bunch of monsters blocking the way
c) Fodder for FGD. Sometimes, you can just push for Damage with FGD and Decree, which is why I added Ring.
I run 3 Dragon's Mirror because
a) I can support with 3 Masked Dragon and 2 Troop Dragon.
b) FGD
Five-Headed Dragon is VERY underrated in this deck. Sure, Horus + Decree + Dragun = cool and all. But, Five-Headed + Dragun can also be deadly. FGD can push for massive damage, and I don't think it should be ignored.
I also went for the triple Enemy Controller simply because teh Damage Step sucks. Shrinks, Rush, etc, will pwn you. Not to mention, the random D.D. Warrior Lady and D.D. Assailant will punish you, which is why it's good if you have the Enemy Controller.
I'm thinking of adding in 1 copy of either refusion or lv modulation. Do you think either of them are worth it and which one would you add?
No i cant stress how bad those cards are. i tried those cards and lv up and they became dead on arrival. believe it or not the deck is fast, it won't need that support. trust me if u have king dragun alone your opponent is screw.
both of u guys are using tomato and masked dragons how are those working for u guys? im just using masked dragons with expolder dragon and 2 divine dragon. i fixed my build alittle from the one i posted above and exploder dragons are great.
ryu take out my body and put in mirror force or ring.
