Now if your opponent chose to resolve Sangan first, Raiza is on a different stack, no target declared ... nothing. And then Sangan's search goes through (or is duly negated) and voila! Hes left standing alone on the field ...
Perhaps I'm missing something in the thread here....but there is no option as how to resolve the effects of Sangan and Raiza the Storm Monarch. Sangan is placed first onto the Chain because its Trigger Effect activated when it was Tributed, we're in the middle of a summon thought obviously so Sangan's mandatory effect waits to resolve, Raiza is summoned and it's mandatory effect activates. Sangan is chain link 1 and Raiza is chain link 2....no choice is present as to the order of resolution.
So if you tribute Sangan for Raiza, both effect automaticly chain to eachother. There no way I can chain Divine Wrath to Sangan's effect before Raiza is chained to it?
Actually I believe the turn player gets priority on stacking Spell Speed One effects that essentially happen at the same time. Correct me if Im wrong.
It matters whether they are of the same effect level, meaning, Mandatory versus Optional. A Mandatory Effect (Sangan) will always resolve last if it is activated at the same time as a Optional Effect (Mobius).
If the are of the same class, such as "Sangan versus Zaborg", then you can choose which one goes bang first.

Right, because optional effects must be the LAST thing that happened in order for them to activate.

Now here's a chain where Peten comes before a mandatory:
I summon Sangan while I have a peten on the field, the opponent activates, and resolves, Torrential Tribute.

If you're referring to Sangan being tributed for Zaborg, the result will be the same chain building as Sangan being tributed for Thestalos. What I think people are failing to realize here is that when Sangan is tributed and sent to the graveyard (the Monarch has yet to be summoned, it doesn't happen simultainiously) Sangan's trigger effect activates at this time....it just waits to resolve, Sangan's effect is already on the chain waiting to resolve BEFORE Zaborg is ever summoned, since we're in the middle of a summon though Sangan's effect waits to resolve, once Zaborg's summon is successful it's trigger effect now activates and adds to the chain Sangan is already on. There is no choice of how the effects resolve.
Which is what I was beginning to suspect right now. I mean, if you did have a say ... you could remove Peten before the next effect goes off. Which you cant.
