The nice thing about meikou is even if your opponent sides out to monarch shes(or he??) is still a 1700 beater who may be able to take out a premy or call, as opposed to twister which is virtually useless if they go into monarchs.
I sided 2 copies of mei kou for this jump. it works well, but you cannot use mei kou on a premature burial. it only works against continuous spell and trap cards. premature burial is an equipment card not a continuous.

Yeah, good call, I completely missed that.
Still a 1700 body is still not a total waste, and I think meikou is necessary against those skill drain decks.
mei kou is god like. at my local yesterday i swept through everyone. alot of people showed up with that burn. i sided in dark bribes along with mei kou and i never lost a match to them. i guess mei kou is dangerous to skill burn just like trap dustshoot was to demise

Same side here. Two bribes (well I only had one, so I sided one and a counter counter), two decrees, 3 mei-kou.
And please refer to it as drain burn, the deck takes very little skill to play. :)

I'm tired of hearing that about almost every deck that does well. First it was chaos that took no skill, then monarchs, then demise, then DDT had no skill just luck, and now this burn deck. On that note, zombies take no skill, 6S takes no skill and possibly most other builds take no skill. To this i disagree, though some decks take a little less thought, I believe the deck building process can take skill and definatley playing the deck takes some skill, or else their would not be the word newbie.
I bet the ppl who use a lot of these decks would beg to differ on if the decks take skill or not.
The thing is these decks are nearly identical when compared and any decent player would play it out the same way if they drew into the same things. It's a one strategy deck that, if you take out one card from the combo, it falls apart for the most part. Some people may dislike it more than others because they have suffered through the hell that is such an annoying deck, but honestly, 99.999999999% of the people who run it netdecked it since it's arrival.

I understand this, however if two descent players were playing with the same build then they would prolly do the same thing based on their experience. But if we go by this logic then there is not one deck out there that takes skill to play. Original builds wouldn't be skill because if it was played by another then it would e played the same way.
If we go by this then skill is no where in this game. I don't believe that. At shonens their are a lot of copies of decks that have done well previously. However look at the top 16, its diverse. Therefore its either that you believe that these players have skill, or you believe that none of the decks take skill and they only made it to the top because of the luck of the draw.

What makes you think I haven't used it ? besides, our beloved clock uses much of the same set-up. It takes skill to build, takes zero skill to play, because you have to make almost no reads, you are entirely dependent on your own cards to create a solid lock and keep a back-up in mind. i'm not a 12-year old noob with a grudge against burn. i'm making an actual statement, the deck takes no skill to play. period. And people who use it should know this, if not, they are kidding themselves.
Of course now the skill of building it is also gone, since most these guys netdeck it off of meta ...

I believe it is a matter of perception. Experience = skill. Your right on the fact that most of the decks are net decked. But then why is the top 16 still diverse? Because all of the decks were evenly netdecked? I don't think so, I think it is a matter of skill, or experience if you will, that allows people to succeed.
If skill was not in this game then we would not have the word newb. What is a newb? someone who is new to the game and has no skills or experience. If we gave a newb and a skilled player the same hand, would they make the same move? I highly doubt it. I agree that some decks dont take a lot of thinking at all, but that doesn't mean at some point they have to use thier skill and experience in the game.
If you believe that one deck takes no skill to play then you have to understand it is the same thing with every other deck.
Mostly all of these decks are Gadget and Monarch Decks. maybe 2 Zombie decks and a burn. other then that Gadget and Monarch.
I take it we're not looking at the same set of lists...
There are more Burn decks there than Monarch decks, and the same number of Zombie decks as there are Monarch decks. In addition, there is a Demise, Perfect Circle, and Macro deck...

How did you turn this into something about skill and experience in the game ? I'm referring specifically to this deck considering all other factors are equal. Same skill, same experience. Over the course of the game the player with the burn deck will have to rely a lot less on skill than his opponent. The plays for the burn deck are pretty mapped out no-brainers.
I'm also not making this out to be something bad. I've played burn and other decks like it myself, and its fun on occasion. I wouldn't run it now because more players run it and its a horrible luck-based mirror match, but its no secret they take no real skill to play. And that's fine, to each his deck choice.
