my d.d. survivor kept returning on my opponents side of the field, since they brain controled it and Sacked it .

And as a reference, Baboons Special Summoning Effect, can only be activated when the last thing that happenned was a beast type monster being sent to the graveyard.

Also if you summon for giant rat, you cannot activate Baboon's effect.

this is very similiar to The ruling for Dark Magician of Chaos, In that it will miss its timing.

What I mean by this is that.

If You Activate the effect of nimble momanga the last thing that will happen is the summoning of 1-2 nimble momanga's. That Being said, the last thing to happen would not be a beast is sent to the graveyard; as per Baboons text.

Also Baboon cannot revive himself. as was ruled.

What's the point of Manticore? I don't really get it. Please explain.

If they kill your manticore or you send it to the grave or whatever, you can discard a little monster of the correct type to get back your big manticore. Great for field presence. If you happen to get both manticore's going, then it's an endless supply of a 2300 attacker every turn which means they have to use ua valuable resources to end your reign. Foolish burial and card of safe return can also speed it up and make for great draw power.
