I fully believe what Rose stated is a very viable truth of the Samurai. I personally feel that Sams no longer require Sarco unless its teched, but that's just me.
DEST is a fun card, and with Hand may even end up being free but I don't see it as a necessity. As good as it is, it's only beneficial on your turn and not your opponent's thus making it slower than necessary.
Guys this isn't hard to see : Gateway and United are great. that's 5-6 continuous spells. Solidarity isn't half bad either. That's 6-8. Starlight Road is a natural fit here. I agree that both Gateway and United should be played. You can keep united around and just keep the two counters, then use those counters to get gateways effects faster (since gateway lets you remove counters from anywhere on your side of the field) Get united and gateway on the field, drop two sams and you have six counters, enough to bring back a shien should you wish. Had a united with a counter but lost the monsters ? Play gateway, summon again, that's 4 counters total, = free grandmaster etc. I rarely use united to draw cards early on, especially if i have starlight road to keep it safe.
Definitely max out on book of moons. Both zanji and irou are beaters big enough to deal with most threats solo that way, but with their effects, both of them can clean up anything with book of moon.
Hello Belgian Blue, I'm testing my Samurai Deck on YGO Tag Force 4 and I'm running 3 Trap Hole instead of 3 Book of Moon, do you think that's a good idea? I'm also running 2 Dark Bribe (there no Starlight Road in the game >,<) your thoughts on Dark Bribe please. :D I've been mainly playing against Blackwings. Also I have a question about Zanji's effect, when Zanji attacks Stardust Dragon, can it activates it's effect to negate Zanji's effect? In Tag Force 3 I crashed my Zanji into Stardust all the time destroying Stardust and my opponent did not negate Zanji's effect, the same thing happens in Tag Force 4. Thanks for your time friend. :D

I play Tag Force 4 as well, and the major issue isn't the absence of starlight road, its the absence of Gateway of the Six. Without it, there isn't a whole lot of point in running starlight either because there are three less spells to keep out, and you aren't as likely to keep Six Sam united out when its got two counters either. Trap hole has a very limited scope. It will help as a preventive measure against Blackwings who need a normal summon to start off any type of swarm, but that's about it. like I said, with zanji and irou being to clear up anything in facedown defense position (without having to sacrifice zanji btw) I don't see why you wouldn't be running 3 books in this, especially since zanji and irou are big enough to use it to eliminate most threats when they don't have their effects activated.
But simply put, you can't use tag force 4 to get a feel of what sams will feel like this format, just like I can't play X-sabers (no emmersblade, saber hole, hyunlei, gardestrike of fulhelmknight) or dragons (no cards of consonance, although I tested it for fun using gracefuls instead).
And i don't think stardust can negate zanji. i'm not entirely sure, best check in the rulings forum since I'm a bit rusty, but I don't think stardust can activate during the damage step, and zanji clearly states it activates at the end of the damage step, after damage calculation.
I went to a 32-player tournament yesterday, went 2-3 with Samurai. All duels when two out of three except for the Monarch match where my opponent won both duels. Won against Absolute Zero and Machina and lost to Lightsworn, Monarchs, and Blackwings. Overall the deck runs fast, my opponents used every S/T removal on my Gateways and United. Some duels I drew either Grandmaster, Shogun and no other samurais to summon or got samurais but no Grandmaster or Shogun. I made some mistakes with Gateway in my Lightsworn match, I thought that you could remove Bushido Counters and place them on the other Gateway the ref said no so I was stuck with no Grandmaster and 2 Gateways on the field with 2 counters each. Later I found out that you don't move them but it can count as 4 counters, I did not know that and I'm still confuse, can anyone explain this ruling to me?

on the card it says "you can remove bushido counters from your side of the field so you could remove counters from multiple gateways or even from six samurai united to activate gateways effects if you wanted to, this is going to make gateway so much better for you now lol
I'm still having trouble drawing big samurais (Grandmaster, Shogun, Enishi) and no little samurais (4 stars or lower) and vice versa, any tips for the deck will be greatly appreciated. =D I'm looking for another Hand Of The Six Samurai to replace the 3rd Great Shogun Shien.

Hmm Definately AN Improvement since ur las post - But I do Agree - Hand Combos incredibly well with 1 or more Gateways, so you'll need 2 of those so get a 2nd as soon as possible (cough Ebay/Local Trading/ Ideal 808 / Troll + Toad cough)
