Yes, but what would make a infantry Medic useful is that they qualify for the requirements to make a close combat formation order, allowing multiple infantry units to work together to heal someone, giving you a better chance of success.......
Just thinking......
Give 'em a 1 damage and a 5 or 6 attack. Not a great offensive unit, and not to great at healing, but put a bunch of them together (and add the qualifier that all units involved in a repair close combat formation order must have the repair SE with targetting for the appropriate unit type) and they could be quite useful.
I rather have a medic with point defense and 19 defense than repair and call it a morale boost. Infantry have to many repair marks to make repair effective.
BR doesn't have LE infantry yet... I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up getting LE infantry that have repair :)
Brigand posted a "fix" that would make repair infantry balanced. I just want to point out that most repair vehicles are in the 20's of point value... the point cost of a repair infantry would be balancing enough :)
Man... this was last posted on a LONG time ago... but I feel that I need to say something.
When the LE Combat ENGINEERS came out for BANNSON, a repairing faction, I really thought that they would have the ability to repair at least something... but no... they had command... WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT!? Granted, I love those Combat Engineers but still... come on.
There are alot of units in this post from waaaaaaaaay back that are now implemented. People mentioned Mortar teams, Slavagemechs and Gun Emplacements. Weird if you ask me.

Command is more important in today's 50-minute game. Being able to get an additional action does more to damage your opponent's army. Repair is nice, but it eats a couple of orders and takes a unit out of the battle for a couple of turns.
