Leave charge be, it is obvious that Wizkids does not deem it as such a horror as some of you do, otherwise it would be in the proposed rule addendum.
Forgive me, but WizKids didn't admit to having any problems with their rules until just recently. Unfortunately, by not fixing glaring problems with the rules, they are alienating a large portion of their customer base.
And although, MW:DA is not CBT, the two games are based on the same premise, the same physics, and the same engineering. Although these maybe flawed to begin with, it is still battle tech, and there should be internal consistency in the games.
Bumper-bots and Charge-monkeys are not consistent with the accepted engineering of the game system.
That is, of course, just my opinion.

CBT is not MW you are right. MW is a bastard child of CBT. I know that it is tough for you old timers to see your beloved game get mutilated and twisted into the current game. I went through the same agony when AD&D became D&D 3.0.
Nevertheless, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it, as I am mine. Moreover, just because the game is based on one idea, does not mean it has to stick to the core rules of the original. As I said, it is an offspring of the original, not the original itself. In addition, you are forgiven, of course.
I don't think anyone is trying to get rid of charging. But, charging at 20+" ?!?!? Er...not. If you want to base the guy, then run over there and base him. If you want to charge him to do damage...well that range is a little too powerful IMO.
Not only that, charge does a little too much dam. But, again MO.
I like charge, but it has problems. Why don't you see any death from aboves, because charge has a farther range and they don't get a defence modifier. So I think they should give the unit being charged a +2 defence and just that. You could still have a huge range and still get more damage but it would be more stratigic to think about the charge. This would also have people stop complaining about charges. With the new rules and if this happened too, assult mechs might see more play.

That's an idea I like too. How'bout this...On any charge, the defending mech gets +1 defense for every inch the attacker traveled.
:P j/k
But, really...The defense bonus works for me. Maybe even only consider the bonus if the range is beyond the attackers walk distance.
Actually, please DO NOT email customersupport about this. Not only is it the wrong address, but you are going to slow down people who really need to get help. I have made the Game Designers aware of your current frustrations with charge.
