The Highlanders in their current incarnation are vastly inferior to the Northwind Highlanders of yore. They will be no problem for the Confederation in the future.

Let me get this straight, SC stomp your faction like a narc at Sturgis, using your world for its catbox, and your "payback" is to go after the Highlanders, a completely unrelated faction. Wow. You probably should solicit help from the Spirit Cats. I've heard they've got plenty of resources now.

Please, the Capellan Confederation failed to live up to their end of contract. For three hundred years the confederation never helped the Highlanders take Northwind. That is the reason that HL left the confederation. Those responsible for all of the dead would be the stupid ruling family not the HL.

Was it a good use of our very limited resources to go after a well-guarded Davion planet? The Federated Suns military was easily double ours. We had every intention to eventually return Northwind to the Highlanders. Would you have advised attack straight out the largest military (FedCom) in the Inner Sphere with the smallest(CapCon)?

The Highlanders left the confederation. Millions of citizens died because we lost the force needed to successfully defend planets from Davion aggression.

Heck luftvier instead of using our precious resources to destroy the Highlanders we should get them to re-join with the benevolent and forgiving Capellan Confederation :) Honestly Highlanders what has the RoTS done for you but make you the laughing stock of the Galaxy 3 Mechs on your home world :rolleyes: Re-join with us we will make you a unit to be feared once again. Luftvier, you make a good point that FedCom's military is bigger that CapCon, but FedCom didn't exist when the HL signed with CapCon. Back in the first succession war the FedSun's military was in shambles. CapCon although smaller could have easily beating any FedSuns unit. The HL were repeatly denied in the requests to take Northwind by CapCon. You ask why, because if the HL took Northwind, they might leave CapCon service and CapCon couldn't keep them around as slaves.

I resent that. We do not need enhancing drugs to go on vision quests, nor are we freaks. We stole Tybalt because we are the best of the able bodied Mechwarriors, so shut your hole or we will come for your planet next.

The Highlanders back in their days with the Cappellans were MERCENARIES. You can't be a traitor if you aren't even a citizen in the first place. During the opening phases of the Fourth Succession War they fought against the Federated Suns. However, the Cappellans did not honor their contracts and failed to supply the Highlanders with the agreed upon support and supplies they needed to hold out against the AFFS.

House Liao was already in severe breach of contract by the time the Federated Suns approached them and offered to fulfill a promise that House Liao had failed to uphold for more than 200 years. Its not the Highlander's fault that the Cappellans relied primarily upon Mercenary forces (that it was taking advantage of and not dealing with fairly) in order to hold its territory.

Even when they did leave the Cappellans they didn't turn around and attack them... they returned home to Northwind to fight against the Draconis Combine and then stayed near Northwind as an important garrison force protecting the assets of their new employer (the Highlanders were STILL a Mercenary unit at this point, just one with special privilages).

Eventually (mostly due to that lovely Katrina Steiner-Davion) the FedCom also came into breach of contract. It was also due to a Liao Death Commando under orders to deprive the FedCom of the Highlander's forces and (if possible) destroy the Highlander forces (fortunately he had a change of heart about the last part).

From that point until they joined the Republic (which was the closest thing you were going to find to a new Star League... something that the Blackwatch was very much in support of) Northwind was an independent world. Now that they have sworn fealty to the Republic (as opposed to just being a mercenary force) they would be traitors to fight against them, but as nothing more than Mercs at the time they could not have been traitors to Liao.

I feel sorry for the Raiders... first they lose their homeworld... then their boss winds up married into House Liao. Jack Farrell's mercs are going to learn REAL quick how Liao treats mercs and then they'll be begging the Highlanders for a place to stay.

You Highlanders are so disillusioned. I will have no pity for you or your kind when the Confederation marches into the Republic. We will be merciless in exacting our revenge.

The Highlanders are but vassals of the sham "Republic." Bannson's forces are united in solidarity with the Celestial Throne against the Republic. There will be no regrets except for those of you and your allies as you are crushed beneath the iron fist of the elite Warrior House Orders, the Death Commandos, and Bannson's elite.

Well luftvier I was thinking of this post today and something came to me. Seeing as you are assaulting Sword Sworn (aka DAVION) and the Republic maybe when the next booster comes out the HL will figure out that the ROTS is crooked and and pledge allegiance once again to the Liao. This would be an interesting twist in my opinion. It would also make sense seeing that no ROTS units will be in the next booster maybe they'll be destroyed due to the lack of any allies. But your right, I have read some of the older HL stuff from CBT and I wish we would have stayed with House Liao, they were probobly the best emloyers we've ever had.
