From my viewpoint, you don't devote your time and energy into improving this game. From my viewpoint, you devote your time and energy into destroying it.
How could I possibly destroy a game that I have no creative control over? By saying bad things about it? In case you havent noticed there are lots of people saying lots of bad things about the game. Are the problems in the game the fault of the game or the fault of the people pointing out the problems?

You are a fanatic: you do not possess the ability to view the any issue related to this game with an appropriately dispassionate eye.
Nonsense. Just because my opinion differs from yours and I refuse to back down without any convincing reason to do so, I'm a fanatic and incapable of being dispassionate?

I'm just saying it makes you insufferably annoying for anyone who even slightly disagrees with you (and makes you post pretty much exactly the same thing, over and over again, in every thread you visit).
Sonds like a personal problem to me, Nick. I see a _hell_ of a lot more people complaining about the state of the game than complaining about me.
Obviously I'm not going to convince you of anything. Obviously you arent going to convince me of anything. Meanwhile the game isnt doing well at all. You can blame that on player negativism all you like and ignore WHY they are so negative. You can do all that, but remember that there is a huge majority of players who DO think the game has serious problems that need addressing. You can consider them teeming masses of unskilled scrubs all you like, but they WILL change the game if Wizkids wants it to survive. In the meantime it seems that the overwhelming majority wanting change gets insulted far too often. I really wish that would stop.
I'm gonna jump in on this new direction you are taking with this.
One of the things I really like about this CMG and why I gave up LOTR CCG to play this ( I could not afford two money pits) is that it is customizable you can play this with any optional rules you want to with your friends (like solaris or any of the proposed rules changes that you and your friends happen to like). The other great thing about this game is in 5-10 years I can pull out the mini's and teach my kids how to play and have them up and running in a few minutes without having them search through binders and boxes of cards and tons of erratta. Even if this game stops being played "officially" it will live on fanatacally as does CBT with groups playing as friends with whatever optional rules they want. And ultimatly is that not the purpose of the game?

Two letters to that one:
HA.
This is the best-selling sci-fi minis game of all time. New players are coming to our venue every week. Packs are flying off of the shelves. FfE just sold out. You have the audacity to tell me that this game is not doing well?

That's because many of us don't have the patience to deal with you directly. I cannot number the posts I have deleted after writing up a decent page full of info simply because I thought "This isn't worth my effort or my increased bloodpressure."
Warflail, I agree with others in that you ARE a fanatic. Perhaps I am perceived as a fanatic as well. In any case, during our many playtesting sessions, Noeticist, SYB, myself, and a few others have all had arguments about the game. Oftentimes we have had to take a step away from our personal feelings and view this game as objectively as we could. It was during these sessions that I became a convert from the "anti-charge" camp. All passions aside, charge is one of the most effective attacks in the game, and it one of the things that keeps 'Mechs viable & worth their points.
Lastly, I am also a member of the #3 camp- I am totally fed up with the "change the Chargemonkeytude/Arty/tankdropWarrior" crowd. This game is 'MECHwarrior."
Seriously, if this game really was "Mechwarrior", we'd all be little guys in jockey shorts and coolant vests. Don't even argue with that, as it is totally true. Who wants to play a game with half-naked little plastic guys (we already HAVE Heroclix!)?
I see several guys here from one venue/location saying it is doing well, the game is thriving there, etc.
I see several dozen posts flipping back through the forums about venues/locations drying up, reporting false attendance to inflate BM rewards, players ebaying their collections, problems with game mechanics, etc. Not to mention my experiences with the local group which meshes pretty strongly.
Honestly, my posts are not that inflamatory. If you cant handle conversation with someone that doesnt agree with you, I fear that you will have an extremely frustrating life. If you or others lack the patience to calmly discuss the situation, that really isnt my fault either.

Firrst of all (and this is for everyone, not just you Warflail) please use the little "spell check" buttons when posting. It's there for a reason :)
I would bet that the people who post on this site are not truly representative of the MW community. I bet that for every 1 person on this board, 10 players are not registered and do not post here.
Crooked Battlemasters inflating attendance has nothing to do with game sales. Perhaps they lack attendance because they are truly terrible Battlemasters. People have been ebaying collections from a few months into the game. Last year, I had to Ebay my entire BT miniature collection worth several thousand dollars simply because my parents yanked tuition on me. Situations arise that have little to do with the game.
Your posts may not be inflammatory, but the constant negative rhetoric is, and that IS your fault.
Warflail, I have excelled in every debate and seminar course that I have taken. Professors have commented on my ability to keep a level head and judge situations well during debates. I will lead no such frustrating life as you predict.
I can calmly discuss the situation, as can many others who are tired of the negativity on the site.

Oh please, you fell for that marketing tactic? No, its really not. Warhammer 40k sells MUCH than this game does. But its not a collectable miniture game, so dont bother bringing up that it won something for it.
Btw Itrain, its "Quiaff", not "Qiaff";) :p ;)
*adding some light heartedness to this discussion, not being insulting*
I would rather overlook a few spelling errors than have too constantly read the pompous, self-righteous dibble that flows oh so abundantly from Luftvier, ltrain187, and Noeticist.
Do you guys really take yourselves so seriously or was there a "Sucking up to WizKids LE" competition recently announced that I don't know about?
Yep, no problems in the game or it's direction, Wizkid's just likes to fire people before Xmas season to maintain their membership in the "Evil Empire Club".
BTW, any of you members of the Flat Earth Society? If not, you should really look into it, a few people there that are real experts at ignoring the truth as well.
The game has problems. My local venue is down from 16-20 to a handful (recent exception was Faction Wars). I'm not buying anymore stuff and haven't played any of the recent scenarios.
The distinction of #1 Sci Fi Combat collectible game kind of losses it's luster when you realize it is the only Sci Fi Combat collectible game.

Oh pish-posh, my spelling isnt that bad. Most of the errors are typo/fast typing oriented, not lack of education. Nice angle though. ;)

So? You dont feel the MWRealms community to be a pretty accurate cross-section of the community as a whole?

Thing is, my negative comments arent rhetoric.
And I'm not the only one making them.
And I'm perfectly willing to express opinions that you dont agree with, within the bounds of this communication format. Bounds that have not been breached during this discussion. :)

FWIW, your debate training shows (nice to see it isnt a totally dead art). Give your teacher/coach my kudos.

I'm sorry you dont like the negativity. I dont like the causes of it. maybe they'll fix it and we'll both be happy. :)

Point well taken...I consider WH40K to be a silly twisted fantasy miniatures game rather than sci-fi, but that's just my "I hate 40k" bias showing through.
I would imagine that this relatively young company has done faily well though in comparison to the myriad of other SciFi games not owned by the evil GW empire.

Well, at least I am in seen in the same light as Noeticist in some way ;).
In regards to the sucking up to Wizkids LE contest, I now have 43 points to Itrain's 47 and Noeticist's 54. We're vying for control of the planet "Brownnoser" to get the coveted "Charger" LE.
Evil Empire Club? You realize that the people WK fired were the people who caused the current gaming situation that so many of you hate. Yes, the Christmas firings were cold, and I do not agree with the timing.
I have been a card carrying member of the Flat Earth Club, the Tooth Fairy and Santa Club, and the Large Government is Benevolent club for years. We're always looking for new members.
I am sorry that your venue does so poorly. Has your BM been enticing players with enjoyable head to head and unrestricted events? Have you be hyping the events? Are players being stale and playing the same old boring armies? Maybe one of those is why your venue isn't doing so well. I am sorry that you aren;t buying anything and haven't played games. If you don;t like the units, then that is fine. Not playing in scenarios? That is your fault. I enjoyed playing 300/400 scenarios for the Capellans- it was a challenge when I beat the pants off of SS players.
I am sorry about the whole "sci-fi CMG" mistake.
What is the aversion that so many board members have to using proper english spelling and grammar? It's like gamers avoiding soap and a washcloth! :D

Oh, believe me. I know that syndrome- that's why I use the spell check.

No, I do not feel that Realms is at ALL an accurate cross-section of the MW players.

No matter how many times you proclaim that the game is dying, not doing well at all, and that there is a "huge majority of players" (your words) who think the game has serious problems that needs addressing it still doesn't make them true. There is no overwhelming majority. There is you and a few other loud people. That's one of the many basic levels where we don't see eye to eye. You think, somehow, you're in the majority. I believe you aren't. This undermines each of our validities completely.
