The Yu Huang is the first assault mech that doesn't fear the land based tank drop, that 24" charge will take out any transports moving in for a shot. Throw in the Liao MHI AA gun and you've got the Garrot drops covered also. Then toss in some Liao Scout ATV for infiltration and arty neutralization, and you've got a pretty good start for a force.

Toss in Lio Infantry for quick and easy repair. Just keep your ATV's within 8" for the Fanantism (sp?) House Ability.

It's a vet unit.

I can't believe that with this thing's 10 attack and 22 defense people are saying it lacks in targeting and armour...
In comparison to all 'mechs? Yeah. In comparison to 'mechs in its point range? It does lack a little. That's the price it pays for having a damage value rivalled by only the most expensive assault 'mechs and a speed rivalled only by light 'mechs.

There are a bunch of people that will use it the way it should be used, as a carver of forces. Then there'll be the chargemonkeys.
However, unlike Arnis, it benefits from a 14-inch range, so opponents can't simply walk out of its max range if it gets behind them. That should probably keep it from completely degenerating into big Arnis.

It doesn't have agility or evade so charging is not ALWAYS going to be the best move for Yu. Plus, 7 damage maybe a overkill for a lot of typical charge targets.
