Some things you might like to know about the 'Realms ^_^:

1) Talking about Mech Assualt will ususally get you Hung, Shot, or otherwise Maimed ^_^

2) Gramar (IE: Punctuation, Capitals, ETC) is appreciated.

As for MA, for what little I've played it, I'd have to say that I'm a big fan of the Catapult Variant with the Timed Missles (what ever those are) and the Timberwolf/MadCat with the PPC's (whichever one that is).

As for most other Mech Games:

MW4: Mercs-

1) Light: Puma, LOW Speed, LBX 20, ERPPC, IIRC, Max armor and a few H/S's.

2) Medium: Uziel with 2 ERPPC's, 110 KPH, JJ, Max Armor, rest with H/S's or a Ryoken/StormCrow with bunches of SRM 4's

3) Heavy: (Timber Wolf for the Chasis) "Ryoken II" 4 Ultra AC 2's, 2 LRM 15's, pleanty of ammo, few H/S's, max armor (except for the Arms, which have the Minumum) or a Thor(Summoner) set up in the B config: 2 LRM 20, 2 SRM 4, Narc (allthough I usually go with more weapons than that)

4) Assault: Dunno, I like Mediums and Heavies the best, but I'm mighty partial to Kodiaks (duh) and MC MK II's...

In MC2 my favorite Chasis are the Blood Kite, Star Slayer, Lau Hu, and Zeus, mostly for the Looks...All of my variants get Decked out with Full Clan Gear...Usually lots of PPC's, LRM's or whatnot, but I do have a special love for Heavy Lasers and SRM's.

-4 ER Med. Lasers
-1 (Clan) LBX-20
-1 (Clan) LBX-10
-1 (Clan) SRM (if I wrote SSRM you would probably think i hit the 's' key too many times)

MW4- Huaptmann

Strip the Heat sinks
1 Heavy Gauss Rifle + Ammo
2 Clan LB-X AC 20's +Ammo
1 Clan Ultra AC 2
Add as much armor as possible.

Little on the short range, but when you use lance-mates or terrain right should be able to get in range no problem. You have to realize that the AC2 isn't much more than a long range Machine Gun to supplment and take down emplacements with its large ammo reserve.

(MW4:Mercs)
Hellbringer (Loki)-
2 Ultra AC 10's, LAMS, EMS, armor and speed. Never failed me yet.

Well,in Mechwarrior4,I have a fav or each weight class.
Light)Cougar,with maxed armor,6 ER Medium Lasers,and maybe an Clan LRM5
Medium)Ryoken,with standard armor,8 ER medium Lasers,2 ClanSSRM6(yes it is SSRM,for StreakShortRangeMissle),Jump Jets. ITs a terror in medium to close combat,especially with JJs.
Heavy)Mad Cat,with Maxed Armor,2 ERPPCs,2Clan LRM20s,and I think like 3-4 ER Medium Lasers.
Assault)Daishi with maxed armor,an ERPPC,2 ER Large Lasers,5 ER Medium Lasers,and a Clan Gauss Rifle.

I have narrowed it down to 5 mechs

light: Cougar w/2erLlasers, 1 ssrm6

Medium:there are no decent mediums in MW4 (how could they leave out the Nova/Blackhawk)

Heavy: Summoner w/erPPC, ultra AC20, 1 ssrm4
Nova Cat w/2 erPPC, 1 ultra AC10
TimberWolf w/6erLlasers.
Cauldron-Born w/2erMedum lasers, 2 LRM20, 2 erPPC, and BAP

Assault: Gladiator w/ 4erPPC, 1 gauss (pretty slow, but that Alpha Strike REALLY HURTS!!)

id have to go with either the uziel or the atlas every time

I like uziels, they're fast and carry all you need

Clan ER PPC X2
Clan Streak SRM 6
Jump jets
and a lot of heat sinks

Mad Cat loaded with flamers is kinda fun too, shutdowns Atlas pretty quick and hope lancemates will target it.

My fav from MW2/MW3 used to be Black Hawk/Nova - armed with a 8+ MG array, for close range whittling.

Weak weapon config, but with MW2's relaxed jump jets rules, I could speed into melee and crush an enemy's kneecaps with lead and momentum.


In MW3, PPC and Gauss had slower reloading times, but higher projectile speed - and I could actually hit enemies from a distance. :D

ERPPC + Gauss were great for maiming too - on a Thor/Summoner, I'd group them together, and drop the missiles for some more heat sinks and lasers.

Four Med Lasers could sever a limb in a salvo or two.


With MW4's slots system, such config was no longer legit on a Thor - so I had to ditch it, or mount it on a Nova Cat [or on a Hell Bringer/Loki].


In MW4 PPC and Gauss have the same recycling time and projectile speed, so grouping them together on the same location makes a decent weapon combo - both guns fire together and shots land in the same place.

With MekTek mod, they introduced the great Unseen Marauder [my long time fav from Macross] - and two PPC + Gauss pack quite a punch. :)

Give me a cougar 3 erLL 120 kph JJ's and don't care about what armour its a duck. However I've made the most classic kills with this setup. Yes knockin down Dire Wolves from 750 meters out. Of course I don't/can't run this in Mercs since the hard points won't allow it. I miss you 3erll cougar
