One big advantage for the SC Marauder is that it has two targets for its 16-inch energy attack. That allows it to taget both Stefani and another target. If it failes to roll the 15 to hit Stef, it should roll enough to hit the other target.
Originally posted by klaymen Yes, but movement is still halved when moving out of hindering.....and i'm sure Steph can't walk 15"
Given that if she is undamaged she could run out 8" or walk 4" depending... so versus a 16" gun that needs basicly a 15 to hit I will take that chance and have steph pumel the rest of that cat pack then turn to dealing with the marader unless it becomes to much of a threat.
@vaq129e4: I faced many Stefs during the FW and I used her up every time with extremely little loss. I could really care less if I had Stef, as BR is becomign less and less appealing to me.
Steph is a good piece, but not a great piece. If you take a look at the BR targe, it is like steph on a smaller scale in my opinion. Has most of the same abilities steph has , but doesn't pack quite the bite. But it is also around 60 points cheaper, and you can throw in kenny with it for the points of stephy.
Ehli is still a good mech, even if you choose not to stay in hindering, which for pure BR armies, contradicts their positive aspects.
If you were to step into 16" rage to shoot your SUPER DUPER AWESOME weapons, i'd just charge you. The wost role needed would be for the marader, which would be a 12.
Personally, of any of the factions, SC didn't need the boost in abilities with their already loger lives, and impreesive assortment of units. Instead, the Highlanders should have recieved them.
First you have to roll a 14 before you can hit Ehli in hindering using pretty much any SC pieces. And then a BR player will bring up the Recovery vechile and repair him back to full THAT is IF you hit.
I do not find any of the new SC 'Mechs to be game breaking like that whole BR Lego fiasco. The Sun Cobra has a low defense, as well as the Shockwave. The Tbolt is a machine, but still only has a 21 defense, and the SC Marauder is, well, it is sweet, but not so impressive that there are not several armies that could thrash it. I do not think that Stefani would like a charge from Ms. Zahiba very much. 6 damage in the face. Oh and the T-bolt does have repair markers, but two of them are seperated by 9 clicks. If you think that I would just sit there A) not repairing Zahiba and B) not phreaking your precious repair vehicles with a few rams or whatever is available than you are sadly mistaken. However, Stef is one of the few BR 'Mechs that can stand alone without repair support.
The great thing about 16" range is that Devlin can be in range of Stephi and Basil, while being out of range of them both. Go ahead, try and repair her, you'll only do it once.

And the rest of the "cat pack" would simply walk into range of your big guns?
