I play Liao, and I AGREE!

liao is gone you guys, they aren't even getting a new sculpt in FP, as in no new CapCon mechs they are getting a Thor. But everyone will get sick of the Stormhammers and Falcons events soon enough...

WK please just get new factions every month or so... or atleast one new faction a month

Seriously though, Liao will fade to obscurity once Falcon's Prey comes out... One LE,, a Thor and presumably the Pilot is Green...

But some of these Grandfather factions, with so little LE loving... sheesh! Cmon WizKids! Time to "even out" the playing field!

As I take a look at the depleted units of my 1st ST. Ives Armored Cavalry Regiment after a near 6 months of continuous combat I ask our Glorious Chancellor.
Please sir may we just sit the next few months out so we may rebuild our Replacement Corp and trade stock. The Men are tired and need a break Chancellor :knockedou

Liao is just as new as the Republic, even one set newer, and has quite a few LE's more. Someone who decides which LE goes to which faction must really love Liao. With this current speed, they will have ranking 2 at the end of the year. Right now, Liao seems to get one piece of each miniature as LE. But the heck, why??

Stormhammers is just as young, and they did not even get one single campaign. And very very few LE's.

And I wouldn't mind having some new ROTS LE's on the plan, too.
Or at least SOME good units in Falcons Prey. An AA comes to mind.

And the Highlanders... well, Wizkids never had much to do with them, so the low number of LE's did not surprise me much. I hope (like I did since FFE) that they get some loving at the next expansion. I know, I'm idealistic.

I don't think a high percentage of LE to units is a good thing. Republic has half thier units tied up in hard to get LE's and stuff that you can only field one of per game, this makes unit selection very difficult for the poor RotS and as such makes our armies very predictable if you ask me.

We don't need LE units, for the most part we need some basic staples that the other factions have. A repair vehicle, AA gun, fast basing infantry, some sort of infiltrator, low end mechs....... the list goes on.

Wow I had no idea SS had the most LEs. I figured Liao did since it seems like every campaign for the last year or so gave out one.

The same can probably be said for other faction prizes...but most of our SS LEs are kinda stinky.

[venting]How much whining about Liao is there going to be!? OK, 'baby faction?' We're the center of the storyline at the moment and therefore have a large representation in the game. We're 'caught up' with the other older factions, that's all. I doubt we'll get much of anything in Falcon's Prey, and I'm happy about this. I bet soon we'll be whining about how many Jade Falcon LEs there are... even though the only reason they'd get so much is to 'catch up' with existing factions. Why is it wrong for a faction to be equal with older factions? SH will almost definitely get a lot of stuff in Falcon's Prey, and after that Liao will just be another faction.

And note that HL is the only faction that's been out since day 1 that has less LEs/uniques than Liao. In fact, SH has, atleast, as many uniques as Liao does, which makes it easier for people that don't/can't attend games as much to get more of them. And HL has 50% more uniques than Liao and SH do, which also makes them easier to get. Isn't easier to get better than more numbers? This isn't considering play value of course, in which case the SH and HL are way behind, though Liao really doesn't have that many good vehicles/infantry, and still has some lacklustre 'Mechs...

Those ratios are of unique/LE units as compared to the percentage of non-uniques, right? Well, Liao and RotS being high up is NOT a good thing. Trust me, it gets really annoying when you have such a large pool of big nasty 'Mechs to choose from but a tiny pool of support, and end up with a force that looks similar every single game you play. I'd use smaller 'Mechs, but we don't have enough of them, and most of them aren't even fun to play because they get gunned down before they can do anything by VTOLs/arty/tank drop. The elite Raider MkII comes to mind, as does the Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, and Wasp(s)... I could name more if you like. And heck, we definitely don't have an LE of 'every' figure, lots of our LEs are 'Mechs that only we have (Ti Ts'Ang, Yu Huang, Shen Yi, Tian-zong, which makes up 10 of the uniques/LEs we have), and these constitute a large number of our uniques/LEs. Even if I'm using different figures in my army, my army will often still look the same as armies that I've used before, and that's a bit depressing somehow. Most of our infantry are identical or the same points as other infantry, so it's harder to build an effective force that fits the point total as most of your 'effective' infantry are the same points.

Though, there are some good excuses for complaining about Liao, but I'm still tired of hearing them all over... For example, RotS players being angry that Liao got so much compared to them. Or SH. I really do think RotS needs a LOT more figures. They're the one faction that really doesn't have an excuse for being so tiny at the moment. You may want to take the Knights of the Sphere out of the totals for them when figuring the ratios though, they're sort of a separate faction. Sort of. And if SH actually ends up getting very little in Falcon's Prey, I'll be really pissed off, as they're my secondary faction, and any other SH should be pissed too. For now though, I hope more devoted SH players will just bite their tongues till FP. And of course, other factions SHOULD deserve 'Mechs that are entirely 'theirs.' I could see DF being the only faction to get a No-dachi, or the SC being the only faction to get a Nova Cat. And it does seem like the Jade Falcons, and I suppose the Sea Foxes, could very easily have some of these faction-only 'Mechs. But anyway, Liao really should be the only faction to get some of those units (the four I named earlier), so if people are whining because they wanted THEIR faction to get one of those four designs... Bah! Again, though, other factions, atleast IMO, do deserve faction-only designs. They just haven't received one YET, so be PATIENT instead of ranting about Liao... :cross-eye

Must say this again to try and hammer it into the heads of people that seem to think WK 'loves' House Liao, if you're anything besides a SH/RotS player (in which case it's more of a 'WK hates you' than a 'WK loves us' deal), we still don't even have as many LEs or non-uniques than 5 of the 6 original factions! HL has more non-uniques, in fact, and only 2 LESS LEs! Though yeah, we probably don't deserve so many 'MECH uniques/LEs, just gives people another excuse to whine... Let me say it again... WE'VE ONLY RECEIVED SO MUCH IN A SHORT TIME BECAUSE WE'RE CATCHING UP. "Why is Liao being caught up and not the <insert faction>?" First, probably because they're the center of the fiction at the moment. Second, because the SH probably will be getting a lot in the next set or two (this is what I'd like to think anyway) and were probably just introduced early to appease the large amount of Lyran/House Steiner fans or something. Or so the SH would have more when it comes time for their 'big day.' I can't explain why the RotS has so little, but hopefully, they'll be 'catching up' too soon... [/venting]
