When draddog said that there was only LE mechs, maybe he was talking about the grey based LE's. The fact of the matter is that there is 12 empty LE slots and I doubt wizkids would leave 12 empty slots.
Also, I don't think that it's 12 LE vehicles. I think it's 2 infantry sets and 4 vehicles mainly cause I think that Highlanders and Republic are due for theirs and don't think they'll make double LE's of the sniper or Longtom yet.
I believe all of the LE mechs from this set are to have grey bases. I remember reading somewhere else (Comstar Rom maybe?) that the gap was originally for the LE vehicles, that they then decided to ditch after the fact. Sometimes a gap is just a gap ... <insert witty 'your mom' reference here>.
Originally posted by BuckarooBanzai No, I'm sorry, the math does NOT work out. The set breakdown tells us there are 12 Uniques and 20 LE mechs. Kevin says this is accurate and there are only LE mechs in FP, so those 12 and 20 are going to be all we get.
That same page tells us we're getting 32 infantry, 48 vehicles and 32 non-Unique mechs. 32 + 48 + 32 + 12 + 20 = 144.
So the math does NOT work out, and we have a 'problem'.
Someone is mathematically challenged.
Let's explain it like talking to a first grader
Here is the list of Mech units in FP:
Nons
SalvageMech MOD
Ocelot
SPider
Panther
Stinger
Koshi
ShadowCat IIC
Griffin
They've already announced a range of LEs beginning with the SalvageMech MOD and ending with the Templar. So there's the 20 GRAY based, booster LE chase figures.
So, now, there is a gap of twelve units. Hmmm...there is 12 unique figures in the set. Let's put a square into a square hole and come up with the answer.
The new Inquest apparently has a redemption form for a new Eyrie Mech, so that would lend some credence to a second range of uniques as LEs because the GRAY Eyrie IS NOT the same as the redemption Eyrie.
Now then, if Draddog has made the statement that all the LEs in the FP set are Mechs, then there would be no LE infantry or vehicles, and therefore the 12 empty holes would have to be filled by the 12 uniques so that we end up with LEs based on the 8 non unique MEchs and 2 runs based on the 12 unique Mechs.
The 20 LEs are referring only to the booster chase figures, not to all of the LEs.
So, it SHOULD BE FAIRLY CLEAR that there is no "math problem" here.
And if that explanation is not good enough, then I suppose you need to chill out, wait six weeks and all will be revealed. Heck, it might become more clear in the next week or so once the September prizes get announced.
Instead of calling "the sky is falling", why not just relax and not over-analyze things when you are not sure of the information.
As for me, I am sticking by my own theory, so if you want to disagree, that is fine, but don't go claiming that the sky is falling when it is not. WK has it all planned out long in advance and all will be made known to us in due time.
my guess is that there will be le vehicles and perhaps a group of inf for JF or any of the factions who havent received a set of 4 yet, for instance there s a figure (envoy sneak) that has a name wich would suggest that there atleast would b a le version since it name refers to b part of a faction wich aint listed among the 4 where it will b released in. if we do indeed get 12 regular vehicles then my guess is that we d atleast be seeing an le of every one like in darkage.
As Deep Blue has said, Draddog has already confirmed that the gap will Not be filled with anything No Infantry, No Vehicles, No Xtra Mechs, Nothing. We are Only getting LE Mechs in this set people

First off, "Chris", I'm not mathematically challenged. It so happens I hold a degree in math. Care to swap scans of your math degree?
Second, my comment about the math "not working out" was that we've been told (a) the unit breakdown is accurate and (b) there are only mech LEs in the set.
If there are only mech LEs, there are no other kind. If the unit breakdown is accurate, then we know how many Uniques and LEs there are, and that leaves a gap of twelve.

And as for this, let me jog your memory: Trovic isn't part of the numbering of the set, either, and isn't included in the count of Uniques and LEs, and he is a promotional figure. So it's quite possible the Inquest mailaway isn't in the normal numbering sequence, either, and thus not counted as part of the set (and so not included in the set breakdown).
Maybe the missing twelve are going to be suprises from Wizkids? Perhaps some updated Dark Ages guys in new mechs? Tara Bishop anyone? It would make sence not to say anything about them before the set, sinces thats all anyone would talk about. Other than that, I got nuthin.......
Originally posted by Draddog Also that gap in the numbering that has so many of you concerned, it's just a gap. It's not going to be filled.

Oh, and Phoenixhawk? I'll take your apology for your rude remarks and behavior any time now.
Phoenixhawk, let me enlighten you on a little secret about Dr Banzai here. he is a person that is very slow to anger. You just crossed that line. If i were you i would be hitting my knees and apologizing to him yestertday if at all possible.
you brought up a point that many could agree with, but your puffery just blew your credibility out of the water and into orbit as far as myself and about 9 other good guys here in missouri are concerned.
I also would not be surpised if you get points of of this, and the Lord I apologise route does not get them taken off. I know
Most likely there were LE Infantry and Vehicles planned for Falcon's Prey but a good portion of the Mechwarrior community has suggested a reduction in the number of LEs.
Mechwarrior is very LE driven and it would be nice to see more players interested in playing, not just winning LEs to sell on Ebay.
This way LEs become easier to get in many ways, and the secondary market will become nearly non-existent while booster sales will increase due to the increased likelyhood of pulling a Unique of some kind.

It would be a shame if the 'missing' LEs had been slated to be infantry packs. The Infantry LEs have been my favorites out of all the various LEs. I've long though they were the 'neatest' of the LEs. :o
