*grumble* My mistake then. ;) But Singapore definitely gets them. I never bothered to order one. It costs $5 to purchase the fig....and $6 to get it mailed to me. So the mailing fees are even higher than the price of the fig itself. Gah!
Supply and demand. Everyone (except those in certain countries) paid $5 and bought it off the web-site. Many people bought multiples to sell on eBay. So you have a glut of supply with very little demand. I saw one person with about a dozen for sale on eBay. He had about one bid on all of them.
Yeah, I ordered 4 of the Eyries from the Wizard site at $5 each and they arrived in 3 weeks. I kept one for myself and put the other 3 up on ebay. So far I sold one for $15.80 (plus shipping) and the other two will at least go for $10 each (they already have bids on them). All three of these buyers are from the U.S.. I really don’t know why people aren’t willing to just wait the three weeks and get them for $5 with free shipping from the Wizard site.
One other thing, I would have liked to support Inquest magazine that was offering the mail-away offer but I couldn’t find any place that carried it.
As of today (Aug 11) there are 48 for sale on eBay. Ten of them have only one bid (generally the ones starting for around $5). One has more than one bid. There are 37 without a starting bid. Of course those 37 all start above $5.
Generally with mail aways, to really profit off of them you have to either sell it right away on eBay and hope you are one of the first people to put it up, or hold on to it till after the offer is expired and eBay is no longer flooded.
