No, seriously - this entire one would revolve around the 16'' range - donar hover at 16'' range (eventually it will hit...), declan same, scorchers are simply... the scorchers... our mini-mech :)
1 - LI Paladin hasnt got AP. Of all the suggestions here, how many have black armor? Right - see the problem?
2 - Shone has a short range - go for OEJ instead. OEJ is more mobile and overall better than the , but can take less pushiment. Lack of streaks doesnt hurt as much if you've got arty.
yeah, that stupid lack of AP huh... maybe Kenny would be a better choice.
and about OEJ, i just cant see how he can be used correctly if i put down two B1's. Shone can just creep up into them and move around for the DFA. If OEJ wants to sit and wait in a pond, fine. Nothing is stopping me from doing the same.
OEJ might be one of the best mechs in the open field (although id take Erin over him any day), but i just dont see how he can be used effectively in this format.
Ive actually considered Declan and that SC Donar 16 inch range thing. It sounds pretty awesome. Up against Jonah i guess i would have to just hope i roll a LOT of 14's with the donar.

OEJ don't need stinkin' water!, and I'd keep him far enough out to prevent DFA's
In order to use Shone with DFA against OEJ, you need to first get 7 inches away from OEJ, which is inside OEJ's 14-inch range. Then OEJ has to sit and wait for you to DFA on the next turn. I would just move away from the blocking every time Shone tried to set up a DFA from the other side.
What I think most peole are saying is that even a scrub would not let you get the chance for a DFA.
