We don't know what the Davion Design Paradigm is so we can't make guesses about what thier Faction Pride will be. I'm guessing it will probably either be like Banson's Raiders or it will be a once per turn per 450 point ignore one heat effect.
Maybe the Davion FP will be something like "Once per turn, a unit that misses a single target attack still does half damage to the target." It shows how they're throwing so much fire out that some of it will hit no matter what.
I though wall of metal was the Steiner method of waging war! Maybe Davion will be to allow 1 unit to count it's attack as both Ballistic and Energy dammage types (to represent the RCT method of war they use!) or maybe allow one vehicle to make an assault order just like Mechs do (again to represent the RCT).
for those that don't know and are starting to type "what is a RCT?" it stands for Regimental Combat Teams - basically a funky way of saying combined arms (eg Mech's, Vehicles and Infantry all used together) except they are trained specifically to fight this way. So rather than having a Battalion of Mechs and a Battalion of Tanks and a Battalion of Infantry you have 3 Battalions each made up of Mechs, Tanks and PBI's.
It'd seem a little odd to have abilities tied in to RCTs on a Lance-level game, wouldn't it?
The dual-type damage would be interesting if special equipment was allowed... maybe too interesting. Energy-Ballistic Anti-Personnnel damage bypassing Reactive Armor on infantry and still doing full damage, or a Ballistic Pulse tearing through Reflective Armor.
The vehicle assault order wouldn't help Mechs though, and they have been aiming at making Mechs the centerpiece of the game.
Say... MageKnight allows for formation attacks to boost damage at +1 per extra attacker instead of attack scores. That might be a good ability for well-trained Davions.
Its
1 Regiment of Mechs
2-3 Regiments of Vehicles
2 Regiments of Aerospace Fighters
2-5 Regiments of Infantry
It varies depending on the RCT.
Steiner also uses a similar set up but with more mechs, due to the Blitzkrieg Companies they attach to improve the Mobility of thier well slow and I do mean slow Mech units.
Berserk, I don't think it's 2 regiments of aerospace fighter support. It's 2 wings, methinks. Huge difference, considering that the FWL has an aerospace fighter carrier/warship that should be able to carry 4 regiments of fighters.
Also, many RCTs traded off 1 regiment of infantry for a battle armour battalion (should be standard now).
Davions go light on Aerospace Fighters. They rely more on Assault Dropships and Warships for Space combat rather then Fighters. Although Davion does build the largest Dropship that carries fighters in the Inner Sphere.
