Until Annihilation which is september our prizes will be either Kurita or ROTS. The only prizes I value are the gear cards as I play neither faction. It would be nice if the prizes for Annihilation are 6 mechs from 6 different factions rather then 6 mechs from 2 factions. I'm not complaining just giving a hopeful hint to the Powers that be. I like gear cards and Gunslingers and Gunslinger mechs I can use all of em. I also like getting mechs for my factions. Thankfully tournament prizes while only available as prizes will be a small number so it will be easy to acquire them.
I am really not disappointed by this. It may be, basically, July's prize support, but they are still usable pieces. People who fail to win an LE at this week's Marquee certainly won't be upset.
Smitty
I was one of them.. but I am happy to see mechs in the prizes.. even if I get them twice.. there is always tradable:-)
Why would the prized be the SAME two months in a row?
Would you rather they go back to offering the same prizes for all the tournaments in a month... and the same prizes for all the tournaments the month after that, like we frequently got back during Dark Age?
Looking back, though, wow. It's been two years since WizKids switched from doing the same prize for the whole month to separate prizes for each tournament in a month. I'm surprised they went as long as they did without a lot more repeating of prizes.
There are some excellent super rare gear cards that should be prizes -- Enhanced Imaging, Command, Additional Heat Sinks, Concussion Ammo, Reengineered Laser, Artemis IV Fire Control. I would love to get my hands on a complete set with a couple extra light and medium gear cards.
I would prefer the cards to the current mech selection.
Yea, at least the cards can go into any faction's mech. If you do not play RoTS or HK, then the mechs and pilots are just trade bait. At least the HK light pilots have several other mechs to pilot.
I would prefer the cards to the current mech selection.
Hails,
The truth of the matter, I am ok with either method of prize support. As many have pointed out, all prize support systems following the monthly campaign boxes have been better systems. Whether I am playing to receive a rare LE card or a rare mech, it is still better than playing for the exact same two LEs I that have been available the previous three weeks.
Er.. wait a second here. Are they offering the Marquee prizes as the prizes for the second Storyline in August?
First they start putting all the LE prizes in the bloody boosters, and now, not only are the Marquee prizes in the boosters too, but they're being offered only two months later as normal scenario prizes? What's the point of the Marquee anymore?

remember.. there in the middle of a transition phase.. after the next set.. this won't be happening.. since LE prizes won't be in Boosters after september..
why? because it brings out alot of folks thats why, and it is fun to play against guys you dont get to play too often. And to support your venue of course too, alot of guys are buying cases online now cutting down on the boosters sold at venues since they cant compete with online guys price wise. I feel it my chance to support them a little bit for the place i like to play at. we have a group here of 3 or four bm's here in the phoenix area and it's fun to get to go play at the other guys venues and meet their players. (maybe talk some of them into showing up at your venue too eh?) and even though i do win alot i do enjoy the fact that other guys get a chance to get the hot mechs without spending 40-50 on ebay for it. i never did like the guys that went to 5-6 venues and then sold all the prizes on ebay. I recently gave 20 or so LE's (old stuff) to a bm that is now getting 14 to18 players a week at his place to give out as extra prizes since most of his players are new kids just getting into the game, you should see how jazzed they are to get a prize. that is the kinda thing that will keep this great thing called organized play going for years to come i hope. I know of no other company doing what wizkids does as far as prize support. Just keep in mind guys it's a game and meant to be fun not a way to make money.
Three shots @ Esperanza in two months... I feel sorry for all those people trading hordes of stuff for this piece (& I laugh at the bum who spent $132.00 for it last week.)
It's the only knight I have'nt pulled yet. Can't wait for the tourneys.

From what they said about Annhilation, this is the last set where we will have mech prizes other then at the Marquee. Sad to see that, but..then again, it was also stated that no prize offered is going to be available in boosters, so the Marquee will probably be 3 mechs, then nothing but their pilots and or gear for those mechs in the october, november, and december tourneys.
