what? wizkid isn't offering to give a full sized 'mech. I mean come on people a real mech could be so useful you know? Drive the kids around! make mechfoot size pools! Step on Tele-marketers!
I can see it now;
kids: "Daddy can you take us to the store?
father: "sure thing kids! Go hop in the Mad Cat!"
Guys, there are benefits to living in SW MI. I've been to the Pod Bay and actually played in these pods. This guy has the coolest game shed/barn.
I'll have to hunt that barn down next time I'm visiting relatives when I'm over in Holland/Grand Rapids area.
And it's been a while since I've been at Dave&Buster's. Riding in these things for a few hours can get expensive.
The really sad thing is that I could spend twice the $2,000 price tag on figures, and three times the cost in my work time, and I STILL wouldn't be able to win it.
*It sucks to be a 2nd tier player...*
Oh well, my kids would never let me in the thing anyway.....
I'm really pleased to see Wizkids with some killer prize support!!!
This totally takes me back to the hey days of the Chicago BattleTech Center and the 3am races of Red Planet and Martian Football. The Tesla system was totally awsome to work on. For those of you that were able to play the Tesla system how often did you play and how good were you at BattleTech and Red Planet? I was terrible at BT but held my own in RP.
Good Luck to all the players for the Word Championship!!
I was thinking that it would be a great prize -- but then I thought it wouldn't be any fun unless you had someone to play against, so I would have to plunk down a few thousand dolars to buy a second. Then I would want to have a complete lance, so I would have buy another two. Then I would want to have lance on lance battles and have to buy another four. Soon I would need my own nuclear reactor to power my recreation of the battle of Tukayyid.
Maybe it is a good thing that I am not going to the World Championships.

I think that this is taken care of. From the Virual Worls stie:
"The Tesla II System allows the home enthusiast to play against up to seven computer generated combatants or 'bots', or the player can compete against other "Tesla@Home" owners and operators across the Internet."
So you should be able to play BattleTech: Firestorm against A.I.s

Or visit SW MI, setup a time with MechJock and play.
I have played before. It's great fun. You can play free-for-all, or team, pvp or players on bots. It's awesome.
Is anyone else considering buying these? It'd be great if there was a nice community of pod owners for Internet games, and I'm seriously considering buying 2 of them. I think they are a steal for $2,000 each.
