Well, not to rain on anyone's parade, but Hobby Outlook Magazine seems to be little more a vehicle for advertisements-as-articles than actual unbiased gaming news. Check out the latest issue:
Now, I'm totally not trying to say that the award is false, I'm sure this announcement is in anticipation of the next issue, not yet released. But what I am saying is that it appears one could almost buy their way into consideration for an award. MK has won the game of the year award from this publication a few times in the past, and WK won the "company of the year award" not long ago. Again, not saying anything, it's just interesting.
Congrats Jordan, Kelly, et All on a job well done!!
Now hopefully we will start to see some of the wonderful things we have longed for (will NOT go into them here) like some of the kewl things that have been done for previous "game of the year" reciepients, for MW in general! nod nod wink wink :p

That issue is several months old (March, I think). I'll be going to my local Hobbytown tomorrow and I'll check to see if they have the new mag in stock.
Well Done!!!! And very much deserved to get the recognition. This game is so strong on so many levels. It has served as a huge connection between my Son and I during a painful divorce. And I have to say that all the venues we have played at have always been the same, a bunch of people gathered to have fun. Yes, there are plenty of hardliners and thats cool but my Son is 10 and he holds his own against older guys and has formed friendships from this game and that is a good thing...
It's nice to see something so simple as a game making an impact on someones life. Infact just for what it has done for mattsdad should be enough to get it game of the year in my eyes! I love the game even if I dont get to play it competitivly down here in South Africa. Great jod wizkids, keep it up(And lets see a real Atlas one of these days not a skeleton with a thorn bush stuck to its shoulder :p)
So I'm not the only one who finds those things hideously ugly? More skulls! More spikes! More... tusks?! Um... Where are all the weapons? And the hands look completely stupid: it's a friggin' Atlas, not an Atlas wannabe made from agromechs!
