sheesh i quoted someone and didn't even make a reply...
don't forget there is a gap between the hard core, army reviewers and playtesters and elite players and the common, mech playing donar flying pog dropping players who never improve there game or position from year to year.
I think a strong case has been made for them being underpriced.
But Cloudmoon also had a good point. Without a sexy ability, would you field one of these Nyx? I'm not sure I would because their job is done better by other units. So the ability needs to take something that is OK but not wow and make you want it.
Now I think most of us can agree then that perhaps they overdid the wow factor. Just how much do you turn that volume down before they're bleugh again?
Oh and Mechthran, you are right. There are the tankdroppers who will just find new ways to drop tanks. There are Warpoggers who look for new ways to support their unretired arty. There are people who always turtle.
As the game has changed I have seen people actually leave because the game no longer fitted their "style".
I, personally, have never really developed a "style" so it never bothered me that the game changed, only that certain developments made the game unattractive from time to time.
My feelings are kind of the same as the rest of you guys...
Their ability is to cheap for what it does.
Elite did a study on orders a while back, a large percentage of the time the one who gets the most orders wins.
The only saving grace is that they are so ####ed short lived, wich means that if you manage to hit one, it's pretty much over for it.
People who play lots of smaller units won't have so much of a problem with them as people who put their points in 1-2 big units.
I am going to get them, and i am definitly going to try them out... i'll withold my final judgement untill then.
why its a unique. Should be on the average one per case. The previous one per cases... the bounty hunter, arnis, uhm kodiak still hover around the 20's It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Correction: its 2 per 3 cases. In general the uniques will be more expensive since they are a little rarer than the past two sets simply due to set size.
 this is so typical of the usual knee jerk reaction of most forums..
'OMFG!! this thing is so broken!' is the battle cry of individuals who have NOT bothered to look into tactics that can counter a certain ability, SE, or unit type.
that said, let me say a few things on the twins. EACH has a repair marker after loosing evade, and damage SE's. EACH, drops down to a total 19 defence both native and Vs. ranged after a mere two clicks of damage. aditionaly, each Twin requires a mere 4 damage to totaly neuter the effectiveness of their ability to recieve two orders.
from my viewpoint, the twins are not broken. people have simply FAILED to look at things, and adapt their play styles to counter these units. mind you, this is NOT the same situation that happened with Artillery, VTOLS, Charge, Infiltrate, and certain other key units back in the hey day of Darkage. it is, word-line-paragraph a failure to understand how to tacticly adapt to an ever changing battle field. i have viewed the stats, i have viewed the abilitys, and i have adapted.
how does one adapt? firstly by not being a turtle. the twins are an agressive playstyle unto themselves. how do you combat an agressive playstyle?
for starters, do not think that being a semi-mobile weapons platform is going to win you the day. units such as the RotS Malice would be a prime example of this. to face, and beat the twins you need to meet them on their own terms. speed is key. damage is also key. Recon units make this a potential cat an or mouse game.
you use the free order from recon, then push said unit to base. this sets up for the coup de gras of damage to one twin or another. if you neuter one twin their flexability is halved. Shamesh recon vehicles are excelent for this. easy to come by, cheap to dispose of, and not to much of a thorn when it comes to VC 1 and 2.
yes, it limits the viable units pool, but a new SE never stays limited for long, does it? Vanguard is just around the corner. in a few short months, we will most likely see OTHER Recon units. speedy, and easy to use counters to the twins. it is NOT a sealed unit pool. it will grow. exponetialy so.
one again folks. stop with the knee jerk and THINK things out. not enough is being done to that effect and a whole lot is being done to complain and whine about how broken the Twins are. use their short ranges to your advantage. a printed 0/10 range is NOT that difficult to over come. nor is playing deffencively without going turtle.
heres a word or 20 for you folks at home who are knee jerking still
Pal Suit
Shamesh Recon Vehicle
R10 Mechanized ICV
Thumper
Harvey
pretty slick? neh? sure. purple on movement is limited to a mere 11 units in the game. but have a look at how easily gotten, and then at how costless the Pal's and Shamesh are.
you folk are NOT thinking outside the box either.
Wolf hunter R10 Recons to drop off a tank. tank with mammoth 16 inch range pegs a twin for 5 damage AP. rince, lather repeat and said twin is toast, or the other twin is also reduced by five clicks. all fo a song and dance of 2 orders.
still think the twins are uber powerful?
Shamesh moves with recon. shamesh pushes for an order to base. this forces a break away, or a dead shamesh. either way you just forced an action. in Magic the Gathering this is called Card Control. prety slick? neh?
people got grey matter 'tween them ears. why not dust it off, and make it work for you instead of letting it go to jelly with whinning and complaining.
either im misreading the thing you guys are talking about but so far i read reconaisaince is that you can move it for free not taking an order from your tota.
But give it an order marker, not enabling you to push it the same turn with a move order.
