I use Saavedra with Stormhammer FP in informal play - alows you to have 11 attack with improved targeting on the charge. Sure, its a dirty, dirty tactic, but its fun. Does a legendary pilot have to be one from a book? I haven't read any of them so I have no idea who you all are talking about lol :p

You should try teaming Saavedra up with the "El Diablo Rojo" Neanderthal if you really want to hear your opponent gnash his/her teeth. Or just add a number of IndustrialMechs to the mix, of course.

I use Saavedra, 2 dumptruck mechs and 4 salamanders. Kinda sucks when your entire army is outgunned by a peasant company though :p
Guppy Lips, you do understand that when Kai Allard-Liao actually would be released while piloting a Centurion, it would probably be the Axe-&-Shield-Centurion, right? Given the recent MechWarrior-artwork shown to us, it seems like the Axe-&-Shield-Centurion will make a reappearance in the coming set (mind you, nothing has been confirmed yet...), so be careful what you wish for.
If there's anything I've learned from recent pieces, its that the sculpt is just a sculpt, they'll put whatever stats suits them on it. I figured with the Solaris questions on the last survey we might see the centurion shield sculpt again, since the mech has an arena look to it. Hopefully they'll do someting different with the arms 'again'. But I would point out that Kai's mech was already released as the Liao Shieldturion. now piloted by Danai Liao-Centrella. To me, this would be an easy resculpt. For me, i just want to see Kai's pilot card. Take the obscene pilot modifiers from game designer's mechs and put them on the legendary pieces where they belong.
I'd want to see Kai Alland-Liao in the Hatchetman he piloted in the battle against Clan Jade Falcon (in the "Blood of Kerensky trilogy, if I'm not mistaken, and also retold in the prologue of the third book of the "Jade Phoenix" trilogy).
...the reason I say the Hatchetman and not the Yen-Lo-Wang for Kai, is that I'd love to see his special ability in the Hatchetman considering the self-destruction/expoding-hillside in the book :)
MarchHare, seems like the most correct pilot ability for Kai in a Hatchetman would be the ability to sacrifice his 'Mech in order to destroy all blocking terrain on the table and all units in base contact with said blocking terrain. Heh.
;)
Heck, Why not put Kai in the Ryoken that he piloted on Strana Mechty against Clan Wolf, that way we'd be gett'n a new sculpt and a cool mech to boot (IIRC, he used the B config: Ultra AC 20 6 ER Medium Lasers)

I like that. we could make it alpha strike with the life dial instead of heat and an area effect :)
I do have to agree that the Ryoken is a good idea. It'd be nice to see that mech in scale
Since it's not very likely that the gigantic Ryoken II will make a reappearance, I wouldn't mind seeing the original Ryoken either. Given the fact that it's an OmniMech, there's the possibility of using it in several sets with different weapon loadouts, that way you can really make an economic use of the sculpt.
