I have no resume! I choke in big tournaments! All I have to show is a meaningless ranking next to my name! LOL
Congrats, buddy. I think this is the year we meet in Indy.
Hey man don't get down on your meaningless ranking. Sometimes they do things for you, you know... Like win entry into big tournaments. And once you are there, you can do a nice little interview / writeup with the top 8. :) :p
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Hopefully we'll know about worlds invites for top ranks soon. I have my fingers crossed for top 20!
A couple of things surprised me about your armies. First, no DECOY. In general, IT adds between 10-20% chance of a hit to a given roll. Decoy you can look at in two ways, over the mid range of rolls it reduces the probability of a hit by about half. But, if you needed an 11 to hit, a 50-50 chance, it reduces the chance of a hit to 25%; so you have a 25% benefit. This is still more than the improvement from IT. So, why IT instead of Decoy? Philosophical perhaps??
Formations: Too many little package inserts floating around, but I assume that the TTL's could formation with the SW Alpha? Still, a surprise to me- I would have expected to see a Sniper drop especially from Elite! Perhaps using the merc Sniper to get a formation attack-instead of relying on the IT.
Yami: Were you worried at all about facing Yami behind a centrally placed H shaped terrain? Your TTL's couldn't damage him, and he is otherwise immune with black armor to indirect fire until you get your Alpha to its armor piercing.
Sorry to hear about Phelan.
Even more sorry to hear that my beloved Peacemaker did not make the list of useful mechs.

Well, Elite plays agressive, and he really likes to hit things when he attacks.
This means that decoy would serve him no good. (he expects that he will be able to get the first shot in)

The TTLS where what did my army in, and imho he likes an artillery drop more then an infantry drop :)
(they where HS TTls btw)

I cant really answer this one, i'll try tho.
He kinda knew what i was playing, and what Ian was playing.
The chances of the Shiro army getting past me or him where slim.
Also we really talked about how to beat a shiro army the night before.
1. Are you saying that Elite is an offensive player?
2. I thought he was Austrian, not Dutch-am I mistaken?
3. Phelan is for bad players like me, not good players like you guys. I am hoping for that 11/36 chance that will leave your big mech running around trying to get a shot on Phelan while my army goes 440 vs. 240.

Offensive in both meanings of the word yeah :D

Well, i played a Phelan Ward army...
And to be honest i wasnt that impressed.
I know what he does, and that you will most likely be praying you hit the ability early in the game.
Wich means that if i come to you, fast like, you will (try to) keep him out of the fight...
What i did against him was charge Phelan with Kaze, then in his turn Phelan's ability hit, after wich i used Kaze to annoy his other big mech by basing it.
Erm, shouldn't that be...
European Champion 2006 MW
?
oops yes.
@Henry
I prefer to hit something with dice average onthe whole day of below 10 IT saved my butt plenty of times. Also in order to win you must hit the other guy harder than he hit yours.
To speak with the great legend Johan cruyff words it doest matter how many time they score a goal as long as you score more than the other team.
It is a philosofic approach I guess, being hit, not being able to hit. You are suggesting that defense is more important but as there is gear and PC that can cancel them they are not reliable methods.
Being able to attack first and hit to me is prime, if I dont want to get hit you will not get within range. Being in range with camo/decoy etc means you are tempting fate and woe you when you face that kid again that throws 15's all the time.
I prefer to attack but can be patient when the need arises.
I am most defintly Dutch, Kaaskop, Hollander, Nederlander en Amsterdammer.....
It's interesting to me that the Jack/Julz/BAP-Nebula/Kisho/Double Rate army didn't fare as well as it did. That's another army concept I'd been batting around in my head as a possible Worlds idea, and it seems to match up pretty well with the other posted armies I saw.
