Now to wait until the statline is up on realms. Without knowing where his repair clicks are located, it is hard to gauge the abilities effectiveness. If their was ever a dwarf in Battletech, this guy is it. He sorta looks like a dark haired Enstien.
I'm not overwhelmed by Felix, his 'Mech, or his ability, but it does present the interesting possibility that his entire lance will have special abilities useful only when other members of the lance are in your battleforce, in the same nature as Devotion. Personally, I think it's an awesome idea, but it's only a matter of time before someone compares it to the Twins and everybody gets all hysterical... ;)
The first 'Old' pilot remade into a card.... well, second, if you count Jonah.. and it's Felix freaking Jarta? Of all the useless buggers!
Kelly seems to want to revisit old units that weren't so well received and make them better than the previous versions (at least, that's a desire she professed in the MWRealms interview). I can see the logic to that - if you bring back an old favorite, there's too much probability that people will either end up complaining that they aren't as good as the old version, or else they're overpowered. With the older, worse units, the designers get to make better versions without the risk of looking like they aren't living up to the earlier version, and can also feel like they're redeeming the character a bit. Certainly the new Felix Jarta is a good pilot card for House Liao (a +2,+2,+1 pilot for any class should be welcome in any faction).
Definatly have to agree with that. The mech is OK and really reminds me of the old FP Spider that Liao had. Definatly has its uses. The pilot on the other hand means that there are 2 liao pilots capable of making mediums for Liao truely effective machines.
Either way, I love the idea of releasing older versions of pilots from previous sets. In fact, I am all for it. Now if only they will finish the Stars and lances from those same sets. Which is not a bad idea, especially, re-releasing, say Fasial Rosse and company. That way, oh Faisal will get a new ride, say the Avalanch, be avle to kick some tail. Just a thought mind you, but it is a good one.

But did we really need another (especially 2 in one set) shield -turion... I like the Idea of bringing older lances back, now if we can get OEJ's lance remade (if BR survives the next couple of months)

It is an awesome idea providing the participants of these special abilities are in cheap light mechs. It is not that awesome an idea if the participants of these special abilities are in expensive heavy mechs. And I am beginning to suspect, that is what WK intended. This is going to be the hidden cost of these special abilities. It would make it nigh impossible to play it in a 450 point game, since you would require a medium + heavy with preferred pilots, or two heavies, and it is going to be tight on a 600 point game, resulting in considerable sacrifice of support. I am expecting the remaining members of the lance is another Shen Yi, a Scourge and a Vulture Mk. 4.

The spoiler lists agree with at least part of that, and at the very least, I suspect you're right that there'll be a bunch of heavies. Though if Felix is any indication, the limited usefulness of their pilot abilities will keep the cost down. Still, I expect you won't see the entire lance in anything short of 1,050.
Of course, maybe we'll start to see some play in the numbers for storylines allowing a big match every month. Or perhaps this is all by way of keeping the synergistic 'Mechs in casual play, which was the original intent with the Twins, IIRC.
