OEJ is back! Excellent! He's been a favorite for a long time and it's nice to see him along with the "return" of BR. Now we can start hoping for Bart, Meghan and Di, and perhaps "Femme Fatale".
So the question is, now that Jack is back in style...will we see other fan favorites return in Outlaws? Will Stefani, Dagger Di, Bart, Meghann, Frederick and Cynthia, to name a few, blaze into our hearts again? Time will tell.
NOw I need to see Jack's stats. Because his ability only works on a close combat attack. Which is hard when you're trying to run down units.
i doubt we d see all return, but my thoughts are that the Neanderthal "Thug" might be a new ride for Dagger Di (298 costing heavy i guess its loaded with CC gear)
and the Violator "Beast" could have a familiar face aswell.

Espcially in a hundred-tonner, the slowest 'mechs of all, aside from the new Ares. Which makes me wonder; why has WK been emphasizing close-combat so much lately? I mean, look at Juliian, Jasek, and Dusan's abilities, the HL/HK SA,(which rocks!) etc. I like CC; I just think it's weird on 'mechs that don't carry melee weapons, like the Hatchetman, Axman, CJF totem 'mechs, and Jade Hawk do. And I do like to shoot from far away.:p
It reminds me a bit of MK. By the time Sorcery came out, it seemed, to me, at least, that WK was trying to "persuade" players to practically abandon ranged combat altogether.
The Grand Alliances maintain the status quo, with House Kurita and Clan Nova Cat still the best of friends, though the Rasalhauge Dominion has stepped away from the Republic of the Sphere. Is this a sign of things to come with Prefecture X shutting out even its most staunchest supporters? Additionally the Steel Wolves have decided they have no further need for House Steiner, most of them leaving to rejoin their brethren within Clan Wolf.
So wait... until Wolf Strike, does this mean that House Steiner and Steel Wolves are still Grand Allied? This greatly confuses me!
I may very well be wrong on both of these, but here goes!
"Beast" is a medium, so I wouldn't be suprised if that's Cynthia's new ride; her Centurion does have melee on primary, after all.
I'm guessing "Thug" is Federick's new 'mech. It's the same weight-class as his ShadowcatII, and both of the ones made so far also had melee on primary. It could also be Barry's though. His Black Knight has the same primary/secondary range types as the neanderthal, and, again, they're both heavies.
Geez, OEJ and "Hammerfall" are ultra-rare? Nooooooo! I'll definitely have to talk to my BM about the two of us splitting three cases, so maybe then my venue could get the 'mech prizes, and I'd have a good chance at getting at least a good amount of what I want out of the set. Two 'mechs per booster may not make that much of a difference, with 42 non-unique 'mechs in the set.
I have really high hopes for this set. I want this booster configuration to be a bonanza for players and WizKids and other people of good will everywhere. IMHO, paying $14.99 for two mechs (with some other stuff thrown in) is more than palatable, especially when I compare to some other minis games out there.
I don't know if OEJ coming back as a GS is all that great. I've been nothing but a faction pure BR player for as long as I've been playing, and it's all about the paint. The fact that he doesn't cost anything to recruit isn't that big a deal if you break it down, cause really 5 points isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things and that's what most GS's cost.
Now that he's a GS he'll fit into an army the same way any other GS does.... and that kinda defeats the point. That would be like bringing back Scott Tracyk in a different mach and making him a gs, and then makking him free to davion...it's just not the same.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's back...fact is i'm just syked BR is back in buisiness at all. I new Wk couldn't turn a deafear to all of us BR players for so long.
BBR <><
P.S.
No way the Levins could take the Ferells...the heat dials on the OEJ pieces would have them running circles around the exarch...
Who did not expect the Atlas to be OEJ's new ride. I think, though, this will be our first scarred mechwarrior. I hope that the characters of the mechwarriors in Outlaws is going to be a bit more interesting..I am kind of tired of the kind of bland 'We are all perfect house warriors' and 'If we are women, we are no worse then homely.' But..I hope with the Raiders coming back, and Outlaws coming up, things are going to get more interesting.
Not to whine, but I was hoping that the blurb would give some better sense of Outlaw's theme. Is it going to be like MK Nexus, where half the units are uniques? That'd be a great way to get a lot of the old characters back in new, customizable rides.
Clan wolf to absorb both Steels wolves and Wolf hunters... well, so much for my theories...
OEJ back as a GS makes sense considering how he is portrayed in the novels. But who is he really working for Mr. B or the Illuminati? At any rate it looks like OEJ and Hammerfall are going to be one of the most heavily sought after pieces in the game. I might have to trade my entire Wolf hunters collect for one.
