my view on the factions...on the promotional agro mech...you see two decals...one is obviously the house symbol (in this case the fed suns) and the other is a green "H" crossed with a yellow lance...so obviously its one of our favorite "lancers" mechs...the hovercraft shares the same two decals...
well the kurita dragon may be the symbol, are you sure the eagle was FWL? (marik) because it could be a unit symbol...just checking to be sure...mine has the fed com symbol and one that looks like liao, but is the green H, not lia at all, same colors though
you're right, it does look like the tank from RA2...hehe
The Sneak Peeks give more info than you're picking up....
We're being very careful about the information posted in the Sneak Peeks and fiction on the site, and it's clear someone's paying attention, because golem 790 nailed three of them. What I think is so interesting is that we've shown information about a fourth faction, but no one has picked it up...and I suspect no one's picked it up because no one expected us to introduce a brand-spankin'-new faction. You guys....
Hmmmm could it be the republic of the sphere? That seems like a viable faction to me based on the sneak peeks. I am really looking forward to this game. I am gonna create my own website for it I think. Probably try and compile all the info that we know into one page so its easy to access before release time. Thank you WizKids for keeping battletech alive and making it click based!
I don't care what you MKers say, but I can and will gripe about MWDA (although in a hopefully less-offensive manner than some [Cough] Durango [/Cough] :D)
Also, will you start giving out more of the 10 stats InQuest reported about in issue 86?
Speed (Run/Walk?)
Attack
Defense
Damage (Laser/Ballistic/Missile?)
Range
# of Targets
The one-relating-to-heat-that-I-can't-remeber-the-name-of-now-for-some-reason
Shaudius said Hmmmm could it be the republic of the sphere?
Well, that could be one, although, as has been pointed out on the Classic BattleTech Boards on another site, the Republic of the Sphere has at least one of its roots in what's come before. You can learn a little more about it by reading Stackpole's vignette, "The Inheritance of Duty," on our site.
There was another Sneak Peek that included a name that's new to everyone...except us here in the office anyway. Read all the Sneak Peeks again and find the name that's pretty much a complete unknown. I'm not just gonna give this to you, you know. ;)
Cyberstorm2 asked will you start giving out more of the 10 stats InQuest reported about in issue 86?
I'm not involved with the planning and release of that information, so I can't really comment on what's coming up. I can say, however, that the "one-relating-to-heat-that-I-can't-remeber-the-name-of-now-for-some-reason" is, in fact, heat, or perhaps you're thinking of the other term, venting. :)
Draconis Combine / Dragon's Fury
Federated Suns / Swordsworn
Steel Wolves / Clan Wolf + Clan Steel Viper
Republic of the Sphere / ComStar or SLDF
Earthworks, Ltd. ? They were mentioned as to getting their 'Mechs out a little too fast.
Steel Wolves / Clan Wolf + Clan Steel Viper
Yup. More Wolf than Viper, though.
Republic of the Sphere/ComStar or the SLDF
Yes and no. :)
Earthworks, Ltd. ?
Nope. Earthwerks Ltd. was mentioned in at least one of the classic sourcebooks/TROs. This is something/someone entirely brand new. This is a name that's been mentioned in at least two Peeks at this point. Nice work but...keep trying....
I thought it was a manufacturer, but the only other reference I can seem to pick up is Bannson Universal Unlimited, makers of the MiningMech, Modified, and the Purifier Battle Armor.
Could it be that this company is a holding company for a mercenary unit?
The highlanders are a new faction unless they represent the merc group that has a similiar name, banson universal unlimited has been mentioned in at least 2 sneak peeks now. Is this the one you are talking about?I think we now either know 5 or all 6 of the factions to be released with the game.
Cyberstorm, sadly, your cranium has been fried for naught. Poor brain..... :) For a complete explanation of the Republic of the Sphere, you'll have to watch the Web site and wait for the release of the game.
The Highlanders aren't a brand-spankin'-new faction. They have roots in Classic BattleTech.
Jake Bannson, on the other hand, is one ambitious, treacherous so-and-so....
(Psssst, Shaudius, you get a cheroot. Oh, wait...how old are you? If you're not old enough to smoke a cigar, then you get .... hm .... a huge bag of M-n-Ms instead.)
