I haven't heard anything about any of the titans, so this is new to me. I've seen the pics but no stat rumors.
I still think it could be intresting to add an "indirect fire" special ability for standard warriors. It would be nice to have bow men who can shoot over the heads of defenders in front of them. Finally could recreate a good use for pikemen.
what is indirect firing. I must know! Anyway these look cool. i am definatly gettin these. Too bad i just traded all my bpr for all my atlantis guild. errrrrr i knew it was a little hjasty of me. Oh well I can always use them together and then i also have lotsof elemental WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE:D :D
is it me or is mk gettin' more confusing every day
a 96 pg rule book thats a bit much if you ask me
the whole reason I started mk was cuz I did not have to struggle through a huge rule book to play
the old conquest sounded simple and easy to play only about 15 pages of reading but now with a 96 pg rule book I just don't feel like it
By the sounds of it the whole mk=simple has just been flushed
Maybe its just me but I enjoyed just reading the 20-30 pg rule book and got right to playing now I have to go through this whole business until i can play
is the rule book just writing cuz I hope not
if its mostly pics+big writing then i am fine
but otherwise there is no conquest for me
*sigh* just as I thought fullscale games would be cool
From what I understand the conquest rulebook has the rules, then includes some senarios and other intersting items. So, no it won't be 96 pages of complete rules. But it will be larger then the current 5 page rulebook we have now. It will be intresting to see what is contained in the book when it is finished.
I didn't realize any of them had displays of them yet. That would be cool to see.
So, if the LB doesn't have indirect fire, then it would be a SA, which means it's possible to see it on regular figures sometime in the future. Cool! Finally a serious range of archers behind a line of pikemen!

I hope its an SA, but it could be a special rule, like The Steam Behemoth's Explosive Damage.
The Fist is a tank, but doesn't have ED.
I'll say this much, its not a SA but could probably done with regular MK figures, whether WK does that or not who knows.
As for the Ballista not having Indirect fire, well its basically a giant spear that goes straight.....not really equal to cannon.
About the 96 page rule-book, please don't let that discourage you. Its size is deceiving and its more of a guide than one big rule book, it includes Conquest Rules, rules on the various Conquest figures(Tanks, Castles, etc) and the basic Rebellion Rules, in addition lots of other cool stuff!
My guess is that indirect fire is not a SA, but will be an attribute printed on the base, perhaps replacing the arrow icon besides a figures range, which is simlar to what they have done with explosive attacks and fortification values, replacing one fixed icon with another that confers different basic abilities to the figure.
My interest in realism would want these figures to have a minimum range as well (at least the mortar and the catapult), but it probably won;t be that way since they tend to make things less complicated rather than more so.
However, if they were to include a new SA for these figures, I would guess that it could be the equivalent ability to HClix "ranged combat expert" that is rumored to be upcoming in the Minions release. These figures would be perfect for such an ability as it would give a bonus to their ranged damage but would remove that bonus for base to base combat (since catapult crews are not usually that great a class of fighters, being specialists). It would really make sense.
Well, I was having trouble deciding on what to spend some of my check on anytime soon....I think this thread solved that problem. Looks great, can't wait to get a line of cannons set up! And I take it from the writeup on the catapault that they can be adjusted between weak and strong versions...that will make it that much better!:p
