I don't know... I really love the Black Powder Rebels, and the Dwarven Stomper is most definitely formidable... It's just that I can't stand the look of the thing. I LOVE my Steam Golems and even the new Wrath Golems, but when I look at the Stomper... all I can think of is that robot dog from the old Battlestar Galactica series.
blow for blow a stomper WILL not beat a storm golem. The storm golem will engage outside the stompers range forcing it to either sit there and get hit or else move in close and give the storm golem first hit. After its attack drops by 3 from the damage I really dont think it will hit the storm golems defense of 20. This will force it to have to make base to base to have a chance giving the storm golem yet another chance to get first strike.
The stomper is a good figure but not a great one. If he had 14" range he would qualify as great. There are too many figures that can either outrange him or else tie him in range in tournament armies.
Its attack drops by 2, not 3, so it will have to roll a 9.bit much, still.
But the Storm is 20 points more expensive.
Im just glad the Stomper will eradicate the similarly priced Thunder, because the Thunder only has 6 speed and a 90° arc. So its either a win for the Stomper or a draw, which makes the Stomper superior in the bottom line.

Erm...no, it won't eradicate the Thunder Golem. Thunder Golem is slow, sure, but he's easily Levitated. And both he and the Stomper have to roll a 7 to hit each other, but the Thunder Golem still has a longer range...
It's a good piece that can get the job done. There are figures in the game that can beat it, and there are strategies in the game that can beat it, and there are dice rolls in the game that can beat it. But it's still a great figure. Especially if placed in hindering terrain in the middle of the battlefield with some magic healing behind it (krugg seer all the way!). What makes it special is the ease with which it can be played. It doesn't need much support, it doesn't need much placement, it doesn't need much of anything. It just needs something to shoot at. In 300 point games, it's at it's best. Overall, at 94 points, it's one of the best figures you can use. The only problem is that you don't have many ways in which to use it, and may become boring after a game or two. Finally (and saddly) it looks like a cross-breed of snoopy, a cow and a battletech vehicule.
-Here boy, Here boy!
-Mooooooo.... (in a metallic/robotic way)
My Order of Uhlrick whooped on this guy. just used some terrain and and got behind him and boom 8DA.Thus the Stomper got stomped.:D . (how is that for irony)
p.s. dont get me wrong the stomper is good but not great. (this is not a flame so don't flame me.):D

Well i made an army with stomper and 3 tough throttle worms. It was kool, every one had touhness and 270 arc. The only problem was the any army with a couple toughness figs could take it out.
BadMonkey, with a 270 degrees arc, it was probably your opponent's fault that you were able to sneak attack. And the fact that it was maimed after taking 8 clicks doesn't prove it's a bad figure. Any figure that allows itself to be sneak attacked has trouble. This figure has 3-4 clicks left in which you can heal it. By the way, why didn't it die on the next round the OoU could attack? What happened to him? I still think that the only negative part about the stomper is that it's boring after a while, especialy if you plat steam golems a lot.
